*~*~* Luton v Sunderland match thread *~*~*

That's some goal by Rigg mind.

Lovely first touch away from the man, made himself big to protect the ball, he knew they couldn't touch him in the box (he would have been literally kicked up a height outside it by those dirty bastards) and then a dummy to make space and a slotted finish. Absolutely top class especially when you've been feeding on scraps all game.

Composure as well. Would have been easy to panic when the first touch didn’t go towards goal and try to stab something in, but he didn’t and waited for his chance - exceptional play

I’d love to see the stats relating to leniency of referees vs Luton’s results.

If they’re reffed like a normal side they’d be pulled up constantly. I don’t know why it seems to be one rule for them and another for the opposition in a lot of games.

Anyway. They looked knackered toward the end which probably helped us. Brilliant 3 points.

I liked the way he just pushed his body across him knowing he couldnt tackle him

I think that in his 2 games so far Connolly has shown a lot of "game smarts" , he's winning free kicks and breaking up the game, would have gone mental if he scored from the DN through ball, just felt at the time it was a lit bit of match sharpness rather than ability that let him down.

Full Time Summary
Seeing Rigg's goal again - it's like watching a world class chess player. Absolutely superb skill and brains.

Mundle's was Jack Clarke++ - he defends far better and has more versatile attacking ability too IMO.

Luverly stuff tonight.
