SOL expansion

It’s an easy win mate. The infrastructure is already in place and therefore the costs won’t be huge. Plus as the stage is always at the South Stand, the new offerings will face the artist(s).

Re: the mags. I think it’s more likely they just redevelop SJP. They will chuck another tier on top of the gallowgate and push the attendance towards 60,000. Again, it’s a pretty easy win and the work will be completed before the Euros.
They'll face the artist, but the artist will look like an ant from back there.

Not sure about the mags. They all think they can sell 90k every week now so other than the 30k season ticket holders want to leave. Personally I think it'll be a big mistake if they leave and build somewhere huge. Demand will drop through the floor for most games once tickets are easy to get.

The funny thing is that if they leave/extend, it doesn’t mean there will be another 10,000+ SC released. The real money is through a membership scheme and I’m willing to bet that if they do increase SJP by say 10,000, only around 2,000 seats will go to new SCs

Yes, I think you're right. They are doing a great job at maximising income by selling memberships and overpriced tickets in a draw. It'll keep working as long as they're doing well.

They need to be challenging at the top or there will be another boycoutt though.

I think you're right that he had to apply to the trust at the time. It's unlikely the trust is still in place though.

They could put a few padded seats at the back of the east stand and sell a low level corporate package with pre-match at Black Cat House or the hotel if they could do a deal with Short.

What's the plan? Remove the back two rows of padded seats and build the balconies for new boxes?

If we go up it's required. I'm guessing they're ready to do whatever if/when promotion looks likely.
Far more than two rows of padded seats tbf. I'm second row from the back of BCB and I reckon there's at least 8 or so in front of me.

I really like being at the back too, as it's about as protected from the rain as you can be.

I know there's more than that now. You wouldn't need to remove them all to build a balcony though. A couple of rows should do it.

Do we know for sure that they do?

KLD is a trust fund billionaire. His trust fund may not have matured yet. It could be that the reason he has ran the club so diligently and thriftfully so far, and also the reason that his mum seemed to be involved in the acquisition, is that he had to apply to the executor of his trust fund (mummy) to acces some funds early to buy his shares in the club. That would mean that he doesn’t actually have any cash to pump in without getting permission again.

Playing devils advocate of course, I haven’t a f***ing clue about his financial situation, but then neither do the rest of us to my knowledge, so speaking with such authority seems remiss.
He is an adult with a child. I suspect strongly, that his money is not controlled by his mother.

Your hunch could well be correct, but then that would replicate the west stand and add about 8 thousand extra seats, not a thousand or so, and that’s not going to happen any time soon.
Stack 3 rows of executive boxes on top of each other the knars

Then extend the south stand, put a roof on for bad weather. Oh and radiators in the East Stand 😃

If his money was placed in a trust that doesn’t mature until he turns 25, then actually it would be.

I haven’t a clue if that’s the case or not, but neither does anybody else, which is why I said people shouldn’t state with absolute authority that he can afford to pay for a stadium expansion out of his pocket as he may not have access to all of his money yet.

So from what I have heard; the club have realised that to keep big gigs, they need to improve the hospitality offering inside the SOL.

At one stage last year they thought they had Taylor Swift - which would have been huge. In the end though, the gigs went to anfield. One of the reasons being the new stand at anfield has vast hospitality options which at present we can’t compete with.

The first redevelopment will be the North stand. The east stand will follow but PL money is needed.

Now it’s more likely that the mags won’t be moving, a bit of investment will cement the SOL as the only stadium between Manchester and Edinburgh that can host big gigs
I love how many people on here refuse to accept they were close to getting the Taylor swift’s gigs and missed out because of the hospitality stuff. Rumoured to have made Liverpool 15m for 3days. That’s roughly our season gate money

he is 26 years old and must have access to his money in order to buy his shares.
However, he would be a fool to actually spend his own money on any improvements, this would be done by loans taken our by the club.

The only way we get gigs now is if we severely undercut the competition in terms of price! The better the facilities the more we can charge the promoter !it really is as simple as that..its always about the money and to think anything different is naive!

So we borrow money to expand, in order to get more concerts? It might not work though. We could find they still don't want come here, so we are left with a debt we have to find funds to pay.

KLD will never take out a loan he cannot service under any conditions the club finds itself in !Anyone thinking otherwise is deluded!my guess any improvements will be gradual and a tad underwhelming if i'm being honest.... very happy to be proved wrong..the club performed a huge survey last year around corporate products so i have no doubt there will be changes to the sol but i doubt they will be major restructuring involving sums of more than a few million or so at best.

he would be very foolhardy not to take a loan in the club's name, like he already has. It's a fairy tale that rich men directly invest their own cash no wadays. I am not deluded, just common sense applied.

"KLD will never take out a loan he cannot service under any conditions the club finds itself in" i was talking about a club loan .kld wont take out a personal loan as its not what they do, they load the debt on the business not themselves........ Anybody is deluded though if they think the club are going to make huge costly restructuring changes to the sol ..it will be drip by drip if at all! KLDis approach is going to keep our club reasonably fiscally sound and that's a good thing ..but i dont think there has been a reasonable successful club in the premier league without significant personal investment from its owners so we will never be able to compete at that level under those conditions!
