Joe Root strike rate

Something that is overlooked I think.

Of the 14 players to have scored over 10,000 test runs only Ponting (by 1 run per 100 balls) and Lara (by 3) score at a faster rate

Granted, Bazball has changed things, but it’s still remarkable over a career.

The man is a genius

Sehwag is astonishing in scoring 8586 runs at an average of 49 and strike rate of 82!

Not even sure Bazball needs recognising in terms of achievement as many couldn't pull off playing that way.

Could say someone like Ponting often batted with the pressure off and licence to attack given the usual damage his bowlers had done and the often dominating position they were in in games.

Sehwags stats man! Mind I think it's pretty safe to say it'd look rather different if only looking at stats away from the sub.

He should be knighted imo.

Not just a great batsman but decent bowling stats too.

He will leave a big hole in the batting order when he retires.

Best batsman in the world bar none and indeed, his strike rate has always been totally fine - which was why many of us were frustrated that initially during the current era he was getting himself out in daft ways because it appeared like he felt he had to do what everyone else was doing.

He doesn’t. His natural game is good enough for Joe to be Joe. A beautiful man he is.
