Or on a train, same with videos and music. On a long trip recently, I was having a bit of a doze and this young lass came and sat next to me with stupid videos at high volume blaring out of her phone. Loads of people shouting "oh my god" in very shrill ways at something. When she finished her pasties she screwed up the bags, stuffed them into the fold down table and left the train - so I guess respect for others and the space was not high on her priorities.
A family random annoyance. When walking somewhere, if there is something on the path ahead of me on my side (a bin, overhanging tree, someone coming the other way, etc), I pause very briefly so I can side step behind one of the kids so we can go in single file until we pass. Every single time they stop dead too, and I have to gesture forward saying "go ahead, there is something blocking the path for me, I'll drop behind." And I mean every single time. My daughter is 17 and has still not got to grips with the concept of looking, seeing something will block my path and anticipating this little thing that has happened over 500 times before. Every time they look at me and what essentially is just dropping one step, as if there is something major wrong. I've paused for half a second ffs. It shouldn't be a break in conversation, should not be a break in stride, it should just be automatic, but no, the pair of them without fail stopping dead.
