Carse had barely done anything for Durham in years. It's such a crap system that you can end up producing a player and instead of pride, feel borderline resentment to the fact that he's doing well for himself at international level whilst we've been punished for that success

Similar when our players do well enough to desert us mid season to go play in the crisp packet fallacy.

If they were county only player level they would all be at Surrey anyway.

Least we managed to survive and break even this year with the ECB paying us their wages.

Otherwise well we would make Glamorgan or Leicestershire good.

What you posted above couldn’t be more wrong and having watched and followed cricket since the 1970s , I feel I’ve learned a few things along the way

Not sure what the point is here? Doesn’t matter which county England regulars play for they pretty much never indulge in any county cricket, except those who don’t play in the IPL and are involved in the first couple of county championship games.

While Durham have undoubtedly been dealt a shit hand in recent times, can’t exactly blame the ECB for picking their best players.

Hes a funny one Carse. At county level Ben Raine type bowlers seem more successful and far more economical. However they have always been aware he has the attributes to get class players out. Height, pace, bounce. He's a certain pick for the Ashes.

I make no apology for potentially sounding pedantic...however. if they "him" , had of inserted , "could have won" in the op then I would agree. But they did not. Grammar was off and the posts are different.
