CC : Durham v Kent

The master of them all is Ferryhill lad Jack Scott
Was he ferryhill
Thinking about it he had a bit of a ne lilt to his voice
Fredricks stepping on his stumps is my first cricket memory, in my nan's living room with the budgie squeaking
The dry pitches and noise from windies fans was my memory
Along with Alvin kallicharan

Very much doubt if any cricket is played at all in this match
As everything is completely sodden with little hope of even slightly drying out my guess is that because of wet outfield this game will be abandoned without a ball being bowled
I'll be amazed if this isn't the case. It'll take the number of Championship days lost at the Riverside (to the weather alone) in 2024 into double figures which, considering there's only a max of 28 days possible, is about as bad as we've ever had percentage wise.

I can’t imagine there’s any chance of tomorrow starting on time, even if the rain stops overnight.

On the brightside, Saturday and Sunday look dry (for now) so we may well see a result on Sunday if the two sides come together and make something happen.

Playing 14 games in a ten team league is absurd.
I can remember her on Tyne Tees many years ago. :D
Was she on GB News?

Looks like the rain has finally stopped although forecast for a bit more light rain this morning.

Not sure how long it would take to dry the ground but given the amount of rain in the last 24 hours I wouldn't build up any hopes of play today.

Really?
I was thinking that we would get a start, maybe even on time, my biggest concern is how cold it will be.

The sun’s breaking out in the Kings Cafe area. Hopefully play will start after an early fish and chips lunch 🤔 Good chance The Drizzler gets a game
