One Day Cup Final - Glamorgan v Somerset

I’m going to keep an eye on young Billy Root of Glamorgan

However I suspect Somerset will win the game but hopefully it’s a great one

I miss the days of the benson and hedges final or Nat west trophy final , getting full coverage on BBC and sometimes finishing in near darkness

Good luck to both teams
He's 32

They’re showing the 2021 Durham v Glamorgan final on Sky while we wait. Would rather not be reminded of that horror show.

Very disappointing day. Never mind the utter farce of it taking place on a Thursday.

We had a cracking day but it was a ball-ache for my wife to get time off (I booked mine months in advance as I just had a feeling). The attendance was spoilt but on the plus side tickets were only a tenner  . Also it was a day-nighter which meant a late arrival home.
Play abandoned.

Having a major cup final in late September. What another bright idea from the fuckwits at FTECB. Clueless gonks

Problem is now, it's more of the same tomorrow weather wise. Both teams have county cricket to honour on Thursday as well.

This weekend should really be causing the FTECB to look at what they have done to our game and take action. Anyone with a brain can see it.

But they won't. The junk food shite will rule supreme once more next year. f***ing wankers

Even more so when the semi final win over Surrey was completed on the Tuesday evening. Leaving a mad scramble for fans to make work and travel plans etc . I got lucky as I was sitting within earshot of a cracking Scottish bloke asking if anyone was interested in going to the game. Think he organised official club trips for fans including mini breaks to Championship games. Sure he was called Ian who did a lot of charity work including collecting 5p’s .Enjoyable bus journey sitting next to a guy instrumental at South Hetton CC

Ian took over from the sadly missed Neil Harris and still organises away trips but the numbers interested are dwindling as each season goes by.

I’ve never seen any away games advertised on the club’s website 😀 Went on the Sunday League trip to Scarborough many moons ago. He lived in the Stanley area and I think his son still plays for Tantobie

Used to have some memorable trips to The Grange in Edinburgh with my late father in law in the days when Scotland used to play in the Sunday League. Yeah Neil was a Stanley lad.

This season I think they had the trip to Blackpool for the Championship match, to Sedbergh for the 50 Over Cup and the T20 to Trent Bridge but the latter was sadly washed out.
