Craft Beer

Having my first Wear Beer in the Isis, birthday pale…it’s not for me.
I was at their brewery last month actually. They've owned by the Duvel group now. It's a decent drop. They're very proud of it in Antwerp!
I finally made it to Brussels last weekend, 3 Fonteinen has to be one of the greatest places on Earth if you like lambic and gueuze. As we were sat there thinking we wouldn’t be able to stay as long as we’d like the gig we’d travelled to Belgium for was cancelled so we ended up staying until closing drinking with the barman.

Also went to Cantillon which I was actually slightly underwhelmed by, can’t put my finger on why. Ended up leaving after a couple and going to l’ermitage which I loved.

Dellirium is quite the experience on a Friday night, not what I was expecting at all but great fun.

£6.70 for a pint of Black Wave!!! 😭
It’s very nice at least.

What gig were you going to?

£6.70 is a bit on the higher end like. It is a cracking drink like.

Pretenders…the missus was really looking forward to it but we made the most of the situation.

Lowest priced “craft” beer in the Isis…don’t get me wrong, I appreciate why people have to charge what they do but it’s a bit of a surprise. Cask is still well priced but the keg is more than the Euston Tap in London (it’s also better for a bit of balance).

To be honest, I’ve never paid to much attention when I’ve been in. Been on the halves to try & get through a few different ones.

Been enjoying the Almasty "Land Down Under" all week in the Elm Tree and now (well yesterday) in the HolygrAle.....has the taste of a stronger than is.....😊
On a different note I had a pint of two by two "snake eyes" on cask for the first time last week.....I preferred it from the keg though strangely enough....unusuall for me!
Just a bit of an update..... found myself in The Steps in Washington last Sunday (first time).
To many TV screens for me....but each to there own.....and....the beer selection was good...had another try at Snake Eyes on cask......and it was fantastic....
Might start popping in after work for a quick pint.....see they were waiting for Fleck to come on...

For someone who wasn’t too interested in IPAs not long ago, the Jakehead has been a firm fixture recently.

Match tomorrow

6pm til 11pm.

Cracking drop tbf. Sunday I shall be further dipping my toe into the Sour pool at Blues as they've got a new sour on and a couple of interesting can offerings.

🤮

Bottles of Double Maxim all night for me & mainly Guinness tomorrow. Might get something casky in the Avenue depending on what’s on offer & hoping to get a Vaux Roker Roar in the ground

Antwerp worth a visit?

Also is it worth doing Brussels while im there?
Just got back from a week in the Netherlands. The beer scene over there has improved beyond belief in the last five years or so. Plenty of options now all over.
Where did you visit in the Netherlands?
