Jack Clarke


He was offered chance to move to the "best league" in the world in many people's eyes, and he'd receive a pay jump. He's not a youngster, he's been in top flight and it hadn't worked out, he done it the right way dropped down for a bit and improved to have a second chance at it. Thats it really, pay rise, better league, chance to prove himself on bigger stage, people with no insight are just making up their own stories and narrative.

People saying they're gonna come straight back down. He's a professional athlete he will be more competitive than any of us can comprehend and will, in his own mind feel he will be able to help keep them up.

For me he gave us a lot over the few seasons he was here and leaves us in a better place than when he joined so there's no bitterness, footballers move on all the time all you can hope is they do so on good terms which I feel he has, so let's forget it and get on with who is still here.

In a sense he can't really lose. It'll be much easier to get a Premier league move from a Premier league club, so it doesn't matter if they stay up or not.

The issue is whether this particular move was the best if he's going to be a sub and league cup player. He needs to be playing regularly.

There has been an Ipswich fan on here saying he'll be in the starting lineup very soon. He says their fans have been really impressed with him.

We would have also been 10-12 points off last season without him imo

Mundle could be as good as Clarke he has the same raw potential and the next 12 months is going to be bright for him for them both.

Jack had nothing to lose by going to Ipswich. Worst comes to worst hell be coming down next season and play championship football again, but on better terms. Best case scenario he takes a spot in the starting eleven, proves himself, and gets a move to another premiership side (IF Ipswich were to be relegated). It's too early to say either way whether it was a good or a bad move -- many more games ahead.

It’s clear as day Harte wanted him to move he was even saying it about 6 month ago on a podcast. Look at the end of the day Jack wouldn’t have been exactly been turning his nose up at a extra 15-20k a week and premier league football but at the same time he was equally happy to stay if it didn’t materialise. You can take of it what you want about him verbally agreeing a new contract here but I chose to believe the 3 genuine posters who were saying the same thing and one had links to the player himself. We just need to be thankful Mundle is stepping up to the plate!

Dont see what's bad about him going to a premier league club like.

Surely Harte is just paid by Clarke to advise him.
Clarke has his own mind - surely he signed for the club that he WANTED to sign for.
I wouldnt have thought he (or anyone) is just gonna sign for a club 'blindly', because he was told to.

Not only that simple though. We will miss Clarke less this season than we would have last season because we have a coach more capable than last season when both had the one tactic of pass to clarke.

Roberts already looks a different animal compared to last year.

Let’s try and remember he signed three weeks ago. Some of you are going on as if he’s 6 months in and has been on the bench throughout.

He’s been here for quite literally two premier league games and came on after 60 minutes in both - and was excellent the other day at Brighton. I fancy he starts on Saturday at Southampton on that evidence.

It’s crazy. We’ve just signed a striker on loan who is our most senior (age and appearances) striker. No starts yet. It’s like assuming he won’t get any game time here. He’ll get plenty.

We’ve signed Chris Mepham too. Our most experienced player at PL level. No starts. Shite.
