*~*~* Plymouth v Sunderland match thread *~*~*

Plymouth are a shit, small and tinpot club. Gutted to have lost to such a shit excuse of a club. They are not firmly on my hope they get relegated and go bust list.
I thought the other bloke was giving the Mags a run for their money in the arrogance department but you’ve totally outstripped them.
We nearly went down last season ! if it wasn't for another decent start... The trouble with happy clappers is you can't seem to differentiate the difference between the canny lads who go to the match for the drink and the group of fans who actually want us to succeed and I have seen people like you throughout my life.
Did you post a lot of stuff on the Covid forum during the pandemic?

Regis le Bris’ post analysis was spot on. We were careless with the ball and thus lost control. The side also lacked shape.

Patterson
I thought it was the older of our players who really let us down today. 0'9, Cirkin, Patterson and Neil were very poor for me today. Easily their worst games for a considerable time, I'm a big fan of all 4 but thought they all played poorly when on the ball. If Neil wishes to remain captain he has to be dominant in that position and have more ambition than about him than making the odd simple pass - he needs to drive the team.
Three of them mentioned are in their early 20s.

There was a vibe of taking the points for granted coupled with individual sloppiness. Plymouth probably deserved the win, a decent team when all is said and done. I'm sure Régis will be doing the analysis, something he hasn't really had to do with previous performances.

Hopefully a full week with the squad will see us back on track, we will hit a few bumps in the road but if we learn from our defeats I expect us to be competing at the top end of the table, new lads to bed in as well should hopefully give us plenty of options

Everything I was listening to on the radio just sent me back 12 months to the days of Michael Beale. It's as if I was listening in October 2023 not September 2024. It's like the last few weeks never happened and I am gravely worried about the rest of the season if we continue to play like that. We were diabolical. No fight. Got put under pressure so easily. Shots were poor. They ran rings around us. And this against a manager who we all thought would have Pl***uth Ar**le relegated by November. Indeed this team will spend most of it where they are in the country. Right at the bottom. I was so excited once the season started. Four wins on the trot. I cannot even think back to when we last won 3 in a row let alone 4. I thought we were world beaters, King of the Ring, and I was loving it. But the season has lot's is sparkle for me.

Was over for the game yesterday and as bad as losing is and especially my record of not having seen us win in the league for several year now, it was great to see some intent and a proper game of football for the first time in ages even if we weren't fully at the races.

Took the boy over for his first league game ever aswell and he's only 6 but he said in as many words the intensity of the english game rather than the Spanish he's so far been brought up on is class.

RLB will have us there or there abouts this year.

After seeing the highlights Ballard was very unlucky with the first goal but wtf was he doing for the pen. Certainly the problem yesterday. He will do better next game that's for sure.

FFs ,all that after 5 games .Take a chill pill ! The season starts again this week against The 'Boro. 👍

Didn't see the game but have just watched the highlights. Thought all 3 of their goals had a touch of good fortune about them. The 1st O'Nien put in a good block but the ball ricochet to their player then Paterson made a great save only for it to hit Ballard. The 2nd 9 times out of 10 Ballard clears the 1st ball so then doesn't end up giving away a penalty. The 3rd was just poor keeping. If you can't hold the shot you need to make sure you don't palm it back into the danger area.

Aye, summary time
Patto spilled shots several times last season and done so again, all resulted in goals.
we seemed much deeper 2nd half, they came out fighting
the lads were guilty of trying to walk it into the het again, 1st half. squandered chances
what to do with Jobe? Wouldn't he make a good CDM? move Neil further up the field
The curse continues. Are there any stats that are not in our favour next week? Maybe a returning player that is bound to score against us?
