It would help his distribution no end if he mixed it up a bit. He knocked it long once in the first half and Mayenda had them sweating. It's a fine line between playing out and fannying about.

No excusing that performance today. He did make a very good save before the rebound bounced in off Ballard but other than that he looked hungover.

He's had very little to do this season, so maybe that has something to do with it. If that's the case, they'll need to work on his focus.

He’s a good second tier stopper. I thought he had potential to go higher earlier in his career but he hasn’t particularly improved since the promotion season. The distribution hasn’t got any better sadly and that’s a big thing if he’s ever going to be a level above and good there.

Like nearly all keepers, he’ll have dodgy games. Today one of them.

Still does have that potential to be fair, only a bairn (in terms of being a keeper) with over 100 games behind him.

Feels like he needs a spark. Whether it be proper competition or a move elsewhere or something I dunno but like you say it's pretty clear he has somewhat stagnated for the time being.

He was definitely off today. His kicking has always been poor.

He was off for 75% of last season, the 3 games this season only papered over the cracks.

He's a good shot stopper, a very good one infact but his ball distribution and command of the box is garbage and unfortunately people don't want to say it because he's a nice lad etc, but he is a weak link in a best XI

I've never met the lad and have not seen him interviewed either, but he strikes as being a little overweight and, at times, complacent.

All them late nights with his new baby maybe

I can imagine it's tough to keep your attention up at 100% when you don't have much to do in matches. The top keepers manage to do it though, so it is possible.

I wouldn't necessarily say he comes across as complacent. Casual, maybe? Not being overwhelmed by the pressure of the occasion can certainly be an advantage. We've had plenty of goalkeepers who've looked shit scared of the ball and I wouldn't put him in that category.

That said, from the little I've seen of Moore, he isn't a better option either and that lack of competition for his place won't be helpful.

He was way below the standard expected today, and I'm sure he knows it.

I’m not sure the kicking accuracy / distribution is going to come.

Sometimes players just reach their level. It isn’t a constant upward arc. For where we’re at, he’s more than competent like. A Tony Norman / Darren Ward good keeper.

Yeah, maybe casual is a better description.

That shot for their 3rd was hardly a worldy and any decent keeper should be able to hoy his cap on it from that distance.
