Archie Vaughan

Looks an absolute beaut of an action. So quick and repeatable. Looks like he gives it quite the tweak anarl.

11 for? Canny way to introduce yourself mind.

Totally agree

Is Bashir now 3rd choice at Somerset?
Raging bunsen I expect.

Nope. Not at all

Don’t get the negative attitudes to a pitch that spins slightly.

It’s great for the game

Interesting thanks. I’d say Parky not been what we needed in CC
Parky is a one day bowler really he’s not really an upgrade on Trevaskis shame we could not of landed his brother who ended up at Kent.

The 2 excellent overseas spinners we had briefly last season showed the difference a top class spinner can make.

Fair point

That Aussie I thought was top class, forget his name.

I like watching spinners but 154/180 overs Somerset bowled and all 20 wickets were spinners.

Surrey's biggest wicket taker (9) was Shakib Al Hassan.

I didn't watch the match (@TheRey ?) but those are figures you expect on a dust bucket in India, not England in September.
2024 Championship Averages to date
Bashir 576 balls 4-299 @ 74.75
Leach 2042 balls 35-891 @ 25.45
Vaughan 684 balls 14-249 @ 17.78

By comparison
C Parkinson 2509 balls 27-1433 @ 53.07
Parky would be averaging under 20 bowling at Ciderabad.

Parky is a hold an down an end type bowler which is arguably what you need at CLS in May and September, when you just need someone to motor through a load of overs and save a points deduction on over rates. Trevaskis was too, and could bat, but he hasn't exactly set the world on fire at Leicestershire.

I watched a lot of it, wasn’t like that at all mate

That was mainly due to the ball

Parky wouldn’t.

Sorry Smoker but don’t agree, it’s a great pitch and it’s good for the game

Yeah agree with this,

He can bowl all day. Just needs bit more guile for day 4 in my view.
Todd Murphy?

Actually was it no Kuhneman we ended up with in the end?

Kuhneman. I know it was 2nd division but I thought he was really really good.

OK. As I say, I didn't watch it but I watched our stream against Somerset and the ball was ragging sideways and Leach had the new ball. They claimed what looked like a thick outside edge to first slip and it had actually turned off the pitch. Add in their shenanigans in 2019 and how bang average they were on a seamer's wicket at CLS, colour me suspicious.

The game yesterday went down to the last 3 minutes on day 4

It was a great pitch

No problem with the pitch against us, Carse scored a 100. They scored loads of runs

Sorry I don’t get your point

What’s the problem with the ball turning past the outside edge?

I see Kuhnemann has been released by his state team Queensland for 2024/25 season down under. Not sure if he recovered fully from the serious back stress fracture.
