Milan Aleksic - Confirmed

I’d be very surprised if he hits the ground running as some previous posters have said. I think he’ll largely be a backup baring any injuries/suspensions.

After all the kid has just turned 19 and is moving to a new country, he’s going to need to adapt.

I think as ever with the club at the moment, these signings are generally made with a view at 1 or 2 windows in the future. He’s inevitably been signed to be the replacement for one of Rigg or Jobe (or that’s the plan imo, these things can backfire but he seems full of promise)

Aye Speakman doesn't part with that type of money for an 18 yr old unless he and the club are convinced. Looking at Aleksic's highlights (i know) he looks to have the lot. Beautiful weight of pass on him. Looks the type you could put into most teams and he wont look out of place.

Also no need to rush him in as our midfield is full of absolute insane quality

I'd normally agree, but if he gets game time in the senior Serbian national team against either Spain or Denmark and does well, we may have more immediate selection problems than anticipated.

100%

Potentially a perfect scenario. I think it’s fair to say Jobe burnt out last season (didn’t help with all the managerial changes and poor coaching) but he is only 18 so what’s to say it could happen again. A nice solution to have replacing quality with quality

There were so many impacts on Jobes performances last season. It was his first full season as a starter, being overplayed, being played out of position, numerous head coaches, ineffective tactics.
He’s started really well this season and will benefit from the occasional well earned rest as others get an opportunity.

Watching the YouTube clips he seems like he has a good eye for a pass. Hopefully can progress quickly and compete for a starting place.

Doesn't really look like a kid. From the clips, doesn't really play like one either. Big jump in competition still. Looking forward to seeing him in u21s - as I think he'll probably be in that 10 role that they tried to play Watson first half yesterday.
Hope to see him make some cameos off the bench for the first team in the second half of the season. IF we were to get promoted, could see him getting loaned next season for game time.

I’m not so sure.

He’s the biggest fee spent under KLD and he’s the same age as Jobe, older than Rigg and now a full international. I think he’ll only be in u21’s to get match fitness if he needs it.

He needs time to settle but I can see him at least on the bench every game.

Parted with a heft wedge ( for us) for Heldje
