Chris Rigg

I think we need a bit of perspective here mind.

Rigg is excellent, he looks to be an exceptional talent and playing well beyond his years. However “better than Henderson” “better than Jude Bellingham” and “the biggest talent since Rooney” these are huge claims.
He’s definitely better than Henderson at that age. Henderson played wide a lot before adapting his game in our first team and then at Liverpool after Gerrard left.

He is the best footballer I’ve seen at his age since I watched Messi’s debut.

He is so special and we’ve done so well to have him sign a contract.

Almost like he’s built in a lab for Pep’s City. As good off as he is on the ball.
Are you saying he’s the second best player you’ve ever seen (overall) at this age? So that includes Rooney etc?

Better than Rooney? FML who is saying that hahahaha

Easy tiger, there’s a big step up from championship to premiership.
Depends if he means:

Playing as well as he is for us, but at a higher level and therefore he is actually playing better than he is now. In which case maybe but at a huge push

Playing at literally the same level as he is for us but within a higher competition. In which case, no.

I watched it the other night. Said the Fulham goal was disallowed wrongly by VAR. Quality stuff.
Apart from that howler it’s actually pretty accurate imo.

Although the comparison to Palmer isn’t right imo. They can operate in similar positions but they’re not all that similar

It’s all hypothetical.

I’m just heavily focused on the reality of the now.

Just read some of these posts man....

"better than rooney"
"shouldn't sign for man u"
"£100m price tag"

He is very good but Chesus wept that’s over the top.

Rooney is one of the best ever players for England. He was in the prem and unreal for Everton.

Rigg is in the championship and playing very well and is a talent without a doubt.

So OTT on this forum
easily , Rigg and Jobe alone will be pushing £100m if were talking true value in a world where Harry Mcguire fetched £80m
wtf 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Whatever the championship transfer record is, it’ll be broken next summer for this lad.

If he keeps playing the way he is, and continues to improve at the same time, most of the top clubs in Europe will want him
Doubt it'll be broken when we're in the prem! Ha

If you’re referring to my post it was because I wouldn’t advise any young player to go there at the moment.

Rather go to a bigger team with a better rep for youngsters. Eg: Liverpool or Dortmund etc
The transfer window has just closed and as far as I know we received zero bids for him, from anyone.

So this is all a bit OTT for me.

High praise indeed that like mate.

Might be slightly over the top but fair play

I said he’s the best I’ve seen for Sunderland like you’ve upped the game a bit there haha

Rooney was a man at 16. Chris Rigg is still a boy. Albeit a very talented one.

I would put Rigg in the Foden category. That's how good he is.
I don't think the comparison with Rooney is based around them being like for like players; more that the attitude is very similar.

I can't remember the last time a player came through who just had the freedom and drive to just go out and play; totally doesn't care who he's up against, he just loves the challenge.

Rigg is an all round midfielder. We're playing him as a 10 but really he's an 8. Box to box, plenty of work rate and tackles to go with his great control, passing, dribbling and general cleverness.
