Carlisle United

Random transfer that.

I’d do that if I had a career like his. Would be class playing abroad. Minus Saudi, like.

Wasn’t it reported he was on £50k / week or something like that in Saudi?

Difficult to turn that down when he was probably on less than £10k / week with us and Wigan.

We let him down imo by not allowing him loan moves when he was younger. I think he made his 1st team debut for us aged 22 having never played a senior game in his career at that point. Most players who are successful have accumulated 100 games by that age down the leagues. Dan Neil for example is at 150 now.

Had Robson been allowed 50 odd games in league 1/2 at 18/19 i think he'd have been playing championship football. There was definitely a player in there better than league 2 standard imo.

Similar story with Tommy Robson.
Isn't Jack Diamond there too?

Anyone else remember when they were top of the old 1st division.
After a couple of games iirc. They had some good players but nobody up front to put the ball away so got relegated

Around that time they played an FA cup QF v Fulham and played them off the park, couldn’t score and Fulham caught them with a breakaway goal after a goalkeeping howler. Fulham got to the final with Bobby Moore and Alan Mullery playing

An evening game that I (and what seemed like thousands of other Sunderland fans) missed the kick off and the first two goals.
Found a lovely country pub on the wayback but couldn’t find it again.
Didn't they 'recount' the crowd a couple of days after the match so that it went over 20000 to set a new record?
Great away day and we also stopped at a country pub which bizarrely had otter tails hanging on the wall to remember the past tradition of otter hunting on the Tyne.
The good old days eh?

What year was it that we played them in the cup?..90's I think, brought loads over, then we took loads to the replay.Think it's in that Paul Dodd book about all the trouble home & away

So not going for pace then. Hope it works

p.s. I think Max Power and Tom Flanagan or Jack Baldwin would be a good fit, but they don't need Donald Love.
Did donald love ever play for us when we sank that low?

I'm not sure it was reported so much as made up.

I've got no complaints of players like him going to Saudi. Chance to make some serious money compared to their career as a whole
