Milan Aleksic - Confirmed

Nah.

Said in an earlier post- this is where things fall down in succession planning. Unexpected events (Stewart injury/ Simms recall) really throw a spanner in the works.

Unexpected events - two injuries and then after doing well one player recalled in January. Then another injury to Stewart. How unexpected is that in reality?

Succession planning is also learning by your mistakes. Though even though we had injuries to both early that season, we then had Speakman telling us we didn't play with a traditional number nine on signing Gelhardt, when it was abundantly clear it was something we so obviously lacked.

The previous season we'd had little or no option other than Stewart when Broadhead was out regularly. Was Defoe "succession planning" as well then?

In reality you have no idea. Highlights can't be a good gauge for assessing a player.

It's another gamble by the club based on potential.
Just my judgement of what I’ve seen and the fact the lad has bern called up to international football in a nation that produces some top class players

He’s very highly rated by his country

"Although we will not rush his involvement, his progress to date and talent means that we firmly believe he can become an important player for Sunderland in the future."
