What the actual fuck does the zenit manager know, the football glitterati on here know much better, he’s definitely not a striker otherwise KS would have done the right thing, and we all know he can’t do that.
 
We will see but from day 1 i have had zero confidence of us getting the striker(s) we need. Guaranreed itll be some young loanee from premier which will be bigged up to the hilt.

We wont pay the fee for Cannon when Luton have offered 6 million. Not a chance

Sadly i agree. I hope we do but not confident. Only reason is going off previous experience of our dealings

Isidor is unknown at this point, Mayenda works really hard and has improved but cant be 1st choice all year and Rusyn is never going to be a striker as long as i've got a hole in my arse.

Last summer we signed 3 permanent strikers. It wasn't till two or three games in that we knew they were all useless

If, as looks likely we don’t get Mendy, it’s gone very quiet re Simic and Cannon goes elsewhere we’ll probably be scratching around for another young lad on loan from the premier league was the point.

I’d love to hear positive news on Simic, Cannon or both in a wildly optimistic world but the world of a Sunderland fan recently tends to point towards disappointment on the signing of strikers front.

Let’s hope things change in the next day and a half.

We were never going to pay 5 million for him

I’ll wait and see what happens with this one instead of believing the optimists on here after the last few transfer windows

Especially since we have already signed one, and are clearly making efforts on others.

Aye but there were plenty of reservations when they signed. Neither Hemir or Mayenda had anything like a senior career of any note. Relying on either of them to replace Stewart /Amad’s goals would have been like us putting all of our faith in Michael Reddy to replace Phillips back in the 00s. It was obviously a huge ask (as it had been for Gelhardt when we signed him in the January prior)

Tbf to gelhardt he was much better than Burstow.
