Jack Clarke

Yeah I have a feeling for some reason, he might struggle a bit there. Despite being in the PL, and perhaps through a bias lense, he had it made here, the set up and playing in front of 40k fans who love him (apart from the PL football and wages of course), its important for a player

Should have had a word with Darren Bent

OP was desperate to cement his ITK status by jumping on a bit of hearsay here.

I don't know what's worse, the people that desperate for Internet popularity that they pretend to be some sort of conduit to the inner workings of the club or the people that desperate to have such a conduit that they deify those that pretend to be ITK.
It definitely came from that fake twitter post like. Whether he seen it or somebody who told him did.

How did he play last night?
Played well when he got wide, as we know he would. But McKenna has got him playing some sort of inside winger role that doesn't suit him. We all know his best strength is either picking the ball up wide and driving in or carrying the ball forward and getting the team up the pitch.

Ipswich seem too keen on accomodating Leif Davis and his overlapping runs than getting the best out of Clarke

I’m going to go down the line that what the OP said was completely right at the time, but nothing signed & it changed quickly.

If it’s who I believe it is, he doesn’t make shit up & has a couple of contacts.

Looked very average in a role that didn’t look natural. Played narrow. As much as I love him and he was amazing for us, he’s gonna struggle in the prem, especially at Ipswich. Still can’t believe he never left for a team more established.
He never left for a team more established (because) he's gonna struggle in the prem.

Re-ordered that for you mate....

I'm not sure which way round it was, but some daft Twitter account posted the exact same thing at a very similar time. TBH, when I seen this post, I instantly thought (and I think posted..) that they'd clearly posted what they seen on Twitter.

Either way, he made it sound finalised, when it wasn't, and looks a bit foolish now because of it.

It just feels like a tighter smaller ground. Which it is.
Because there is no space on the sidelines, bringing the fans a lot closer to the wings.

SoL pitch isn’t as big as what we all think, the running track and the walkway around the bottom of the stand just make it seem roomier.

Based on last seasons Championship the SoL was 12th largest for playing area, Ipswich were 2nd largest (only behind Hull City).

When you actually look at the perimeter of our pitch, there’s a hell of a lot of wasted space, a slight change in the gradient on the lower bowl could get fans closer to the pitch (but obviously not under the cover of the roof) and squeeze in a few more fans.

I think that maybe the perimeter has (or had) to be a certain size to hold certain UEFA / FIFA games which is why so much space was wasted.

I think this hinders the atmosphere too. Harder to create a “cauldron” when the pitch is detached from the fans

I genuinely don’t understand people who don’t wish him well. Even in the 2 games he played this season he gave his absolute all. No agitating for a move on the field as we’ve seen a lot of. If you didn’t know there was a chance he was away you’d certainly not have guessed from his performances. He developed here and got a move to the prem, we got 3 good years and a tidy profit. Everyone is better off, unfortunately including his agent.

Well he was dreadful against Newcastle and couldn’t get any joy against an ageing and out of form Trippier back in January.

Yes it was a one off game but the step up is going to be huge.

I get wanting to play in the Prem but I just think a move to Ipswich is bizarre. This time next year they will be back in the second tier.

No normal fan will have a bad word against the lad. People are just pissed off losing our best player for less than what we thought he was worth. Everyone knows he always gave his all.

His thinking was maybe that he will get game time at Ipswich and would probably not get a look in at the “bigger” more established clubs. No point in moving to the Prem and not getting a game.
Jack is obviously a model pro with a good attitude. If he impresses, he will get a move to another Prem club when they inevitably go down.
It’s not a bad decision really.

Or can come back here with a Prem Season under his belt as we go up and the come down ;)

Depending on the terms of the sell on clause it could be like having a 25% voucher for him as well

You can't sign for clubs who don't put bids in.

We / he / Harte got one offer. It was Ipswich or nobody.

We'll see how it goes.

The window is still open.
He said yes Ipswich rather than hold out for other bids which may have come along. It’s a good move for the lad.

On paper I don't think it's a good move. A more established, settled club would have been a far better move. I think Ipswich will struggle but we'll see.
