Jack Clarke

FFFFUCKKKKK OFFF! We're in the Premier League. Used to be in League One with you. Remember? That team you played at the start of last season. Should've won. Didn't. Then Broady scored that deflected first and Hirsty let go a screamer for number two. Then, while your Director of Football or whatever it is was writing off a season, because he sacked that bloke with the massive mole on his fizz, the Londoner, swarthy type, double chin, looked like he enjoyed a nice cooked brekky once too often, well, where was I? Oh yeah, because he sacked him off and left his twat sidekick, the bloke who always wore that baseball cap, in charge, and your results went south quicker than a fat bird's tits after fifty, you missed the chance to compete excitingly with Leeds and Sarfampton and do last minute jammy winners. And lo, we went up, and are therefore so minted, we could keep you as our bitch and still have enough left to buy Liam Delap for fifteen massive. That Ipswich.

We have a really good core of young british talent that could grow together.

Patterson neil Ballard Clarke Hume cirkin and alese.

Back then and build around them and we have as good a chance as anyone to go up.

I can’t accept £15 million rising to 20 for Clarke is too good to turn down !!

Unless there is a release clause in that we don’t know about.

This is where what’s remaining in the transfer window will tell us so much about the ambition of the club.

We need to see some ambitious signings which indicate the club have genuine promotion ambitions.

Otherwise it’ll be sell Clarke this summer, replace him with free transfers and loans, sell Neil next summer, repeat, sell Ballard the next etc etc.

We were told the plan was always to sell players if their individual progression accelerated at a pace faster than the club but that as the fees received increased so the quality of replacements would reflect that.

Should be a fascinating week.

For me now, way too much is being made out of the fee. Aye we could have ideally got a little more, but a player is only worth what a club offers. He's made it clear he wants to leave. We'll get 20m for him, although it's seems to suit people's arguments to say its 15m. We also have a sell on clause, so that makes up the other 4 or 5 million. In comparison, we're getting more than Coventry did for Gykores, who was best striker in league. We'll get similar to what Palace paid for Wharton, who is now in England squad, which Clarke won't do. As per a huge over reaction. We're all sad to see him leave, but it's hardly a surprise is it? He was always the most likely to leave. All comes down to how we use the money, which EVERYONE can agree on, needs to happen.

Gyokeres only had a year left on his contract

Enjoy your day in the sun. You'll always be Ipwsich with your shitty 20k seater as you tumble back down the leagues eventually.

Clarke was refusing to sign one 🤷 we got more than for him.
We got the same fee. There is no information saying he refused to sign a contract, but that we couldn't yet agree on the wage. Equally he has two years left on his contract. Gyokeres would have left for free if they didn't sell in that window

So we get 20m now or probably half that next summer? I just think there's been way too much made of the fee when we're getting 20m and a sell on clause.

When did he make it clear he wanted to leave. This is news to me

Wasn't it Romano who said something along lines of "things changed when Clarke made it clear he was desperate to play Premier league".

Either way, 20m plus a sell on clause? Potentially the 25m there anyway.

£40m for a one footed predictable winger. Not convinced. 😉

It’s weird that you always do this. Proper sad behaviour. Digging back years to find a quote.

This post is nearly 2 1/2 years old. Clarke has improved so much since that date.

It’s almost like people change their opinions as players develop - how mad is that?
