Jack Clarke

I've already been put in my place about Summerville, it was his release clause. Hutchison is a fair comparison I guess, for me the extra value for Clarke is the value he brings to our side. I bet Chelsea have a whacking great %age of the next sale or a buy back with Hutchison.
For the amount we end up getting after Spurs take a cut I don’t see that much value in the deal as losing Clarke is a huge blow to us but in terms of his market value it seems pretty fair. Philogene from Hull went for the same amount roughly too.

Philogene is nowhere near as good (I’m not even bias, honest!) but it was also his buy back clause amount.

😂😂😂😂

Was I, do you want to check my posts from last Sunday, or would you like to check my posts prior to today 😂.

Then again why change your habit of a lifetime of being WRONG.

Your warped in the head man, your arguing with someone because they said Clarke had 2 years left, that’s how much you can’t just say I’m wrong 😂
I never argued he had two he’s moving towards his last year and wouldn’t sign a new deal we in a shit position once it gets to a certain pint teams will just wait and get him for nowt we weren’t in a good bargaining position what’s so hard to understand ??? Even with 18 months left his value is plummeting by the month

How long did he have on his contract ?
If we get 3 attackers who gives a fuck what we got ! People are too wrapped up in the numbers the most important thing is who comes in

Don’t really get why everyone is saying the fee is low, Summerville (championship player of the season) went for £25m, Hutchison signed for Ipswich (only 20 and looked as good if not better than Clarke last season) went for £23m. £15-20m sounds about right for Clarke, not sure we could realistically expect more than that given the fees paid for Summerville and Hutchison.
What about £40m for Rutter an inferior player to Clarke?

Nee idea, the buy back clause made that entirely irrelevant.

I agree with the second part, IF the money is used to improve the squad it doesn’t matter how much we get really.

Wilson might be a 25 million quid striker and we have got him for 4 with the Clarke money it’s swings and roundabouts

The club are gonna have to acknowledge it at some point. If he’s had his medical today and passed then I suspect they’ll be rushing to announce the deal before the squads are announced.

That is a reach mind. While Clarke was being farmed out on loan by Spuds to various championship clubs and failing to make that much of an impression with several of them, Rutter was establishing himself in the Bundesliga as a regular starter. On the back of that he got a big money transfer to Leeds supported by their parachute payments where Clarke moved to us for pennies. He then helped them finish third in a league Clarke nearly got relegated from. You’d have to have the most red and white of red and white tinted specs on to conclude from their respective careers to date that Rutter was obviously inferior.

Club would just look like fannies if it's not announced and we play Burnley tomorrow without him in the team or on the bench. They need to confirm why he's not there.

Must be worth £40m if that’s what Brighton were willing to pay, not sure about him being an inferior player though looked decent in the couple of times I watched and obviously is rated highly if Leeds were willing to pay £30m+ and Brighton £40m for him. Rutter is a bit of anomaly to be fair, we do supposedly have a sell on clause with Clarke so if he makes the step up we might end with more than £20m.

The 750k number has only come from transfermarkt. Don't think we should take it as gospel
It’s not. Russian clubs can’t be given money nor can we pay a players wage while he’s still employed by a Russian club.

It’s a loan with no fee and Zenit are paying 100% of his wages

Up to the buying club to announce him. Was watching the Peterborough chairman on about that lad they sold to Sheff Utd, everything was done on Peterborough side but buying club does the announcement
