Jack Clarke

I cannot understand 40 million for Rutter and what amounts to 11.5 million for Clarke
was signed by leeds from the bundesliga, while in the premier - pretty sure leeds paid big money for him as he was netting goals in germany... not sure you can compare him with Clarke to be truthful.

I’m not surprised he is going. But the fee is my issue. I would have put him on par with Summerville. Ok maybe not 25 million up front but total.

If I was speakman I would be on the phone to every top 10 PL club saying who are your best young wingers. Look what we’ve done with Clarke and Diallo. Get a left winger on loan at least for the short term.

There has been a contract on the table for him to sign for a while by all accounts...he wouldnt sign it...

Whats the best thing for the club to do to do then?

This it’s strange how people don’t get that, it’s not just his stats we are going to miss which are huge for us it’s the fact teams are scared of the lad, plan for him and double up a lot of times on him like you say leaving space for others. It’s mental how people are trying to downplay this transfer. It’s not just the raw numbers we won’t be able to replace especially in one player it’s what he brings outside of that.

We are going to be weaker for the rest of the season than we were for the first two games … couldn’t make it up.

And the spin begins!
Not spinning, gutted he's moved. Despite SMB rumours I don't think he was going to sign a new deal, and he's very obviously had PL suitors the last year or so. This isn't an endorsement or "the model" by any means and none of us really know the discussions that have led to him moving, but footballers will want to play at the highest level, and we aren't there right now - simple as.

I’ll never ever understand people desperate for a “melt down”
Some people are seemingly more bothered about being proved right and others wrong on here than what actually happens on the pitch mate.
I couldn’t give a shiny shite what people think of my opinions here, they are exactly that, my opinions and I’ll likely be problem wrong more than right but as long as we get points on a Saturday, I’ll be over the moon with that.

We’ve just massively weakened a side that have started off great with Clarke being integral to it and some are bothered about what others post on here in the future?

Even if he didn’t sign a new deal, he has 2 years left and certainly wasn’t playing like someone who is sulking. He’s been outstanding in both games.

Genuinely think the club have been used by him being close to signing a new contract to firm up interest!
