How would that be any worse? We would have accumulated a lot of points to be there at the halfway stage. We are 2 games in, still don’t have a proper striker and have lost our best player a day before we play the best side in the division.Trying to imagine the meltdown on here if we were 5th and sold him in January…………..
was signed by leeds from the bundesliga, while in the premier - pretty sure leeds paid big money for him as he was netting goals in germany... not sure you can compare him with Clarke to be truthful.I cannot understand 40 million for Rutter and what amounts to 11.5 million for Clarke
I’ll never ever understand people desperate for a “melt down”How would that be any worse? We would have accumulated a lot of points to be there at the halfway stage. We are 2 games in, still don’t have a proper striker and have lost our best player a day before we lay the best Sid win the division.
This it’s strange how people don’t get that, it’s not just his stats we are going to miss which are huge for us it’s the fact teams are scared of the lad, plan for him and double up a lot of times on him like you say leaving space for others. It’s mental how people are trying to downplay this transfer. It’s not just the raw numbers we won’t be able to replace especially in one player it’s what he brings outside of that.
Not spinning, gutted he's moved. Despite SMB rumours I don't think he was going to sign a new deal, and he's very obviously had PL suitors the last year or so. This isn't an endorsement or "the model" by any means and none of us really know the discussions that have led to him moving, but footballers will want to play at the highest level, and we aren't there right now - simple as.And the spin begins!
Some people are seemingly more bothered about being proved right and others wrong on here than what actually happens on the pitch mate.I’ll never ever understand people desperate for a “melt down”
What a fannyWe are going to be weaker for the rest of the season than we were for the first two games … couldn’t make it up.
Even if he didn’t sign a new deal, he has 2 years left and certainly wasn’t playing like someone who is sulking. He’s been outstanding in both games. Not spinning, gutted he's moved. There has been a contract on the table for him to sign for a while by all accounts...he wouldnt sign it...
Whats the best thing for the club to do to do then?

Genuinely think the club have been used by him being close to signing a new contract to firm up interest! There has been a contract on the table for him to sign for a while by all accounts...he wouldnt sign it...

How would that work?Another thing worth thinking about that nobody has mentioned, I wonder if Speakman personally made any money from this transfer...
that's not the way the model works...Offer him a better contract
