We've gone backwards once in the current operating model, which will mean we'll most likely go a bit forward again this season. Unless you're discussing feelings and that, rather than league position?Difference is Brighton and Brentford use the money to upgrade their standard of player and replacements each time.
We dilute the quality with a load of bairns and go backwards!

Well, getting rid of Stewart over giving him a long term deal making him our highest paid player was great business.We haven’t signed them yet so you can only go off previous history.
Replacing Stewart with Rusyn, Hemir, Mayenda and Burstow was cracking business!
Admittedly the players we've replaced him with haven't work, yet, but given that Stewart has barely kicked a ball since he left, neither would he.

Well we haven’t done the same have we? So our model is different. “Get mugged off for our best players” there’s our model.
Value of the squad has had an extra zero added to it over the last 2 years and people still think this.

We can only judge on the info we have though. If fee is significantly higher and more true to his value we can then eat our words, but until that time, Speakman is a chump!

There would be fuck all wrong with the model if Clarke went for £30m and we reinvested in a few players that would get us promoted. What is ridiculous is our best player, and highest scoring player, going for £15m. That money won’t get us promoted. It won’t even replace Clarke. Based on that, the model won’t work.
