I posted on here a while back when people were posting 25 or even 30 for Clarke , 20 for Ballard, 20 for Patto and 10s for Hume and couple others , that you can forget it with Dufus being the owner.

Now clubs will be alerted to how we do business and offer in accordance.

Yet we miss targets because of derisory offers to other clubs. They have no clue what they are doing.

We will no doubt get Hartes obscured view in a few month on a random podcast I would have thought. The little leprechaun can’t keep his hole shut!
 
Just come context to the fee received.

15m @ 75% is £11.25 million
5m in add ons are expected to be received and suggestion seems to be that as they are performance based spurs won’t get a cut of it.

Total received - £16.25 million
Now in order to get that from initial fee alone without add ons we would need to sell him for £21.67 million
Seems like club may have structured the deal to keep a larger % of the deal.

Also none of this takes into account the rumoured 15% sell on which is likely going to be worth a million or two at least.

There are people saying we are reinvesting the money on Wilson and Simic. And then that's it gone. :(

Can we though? If good players like Clarke are worth £15m (probably low) then that's the value of these good players.

It's a myth you can buy players on the cheap hence we now have Rusyn, Ba, Hemir, Hjelde, Anderson, Pembele, Bennett and Triantis who are absolutely rubbish and players like Seelt, Aouchiche, Mundle and Mayenda who might be good. None of these will be easy to shift though.

It's only a matter of time before there's two much crap and the squad is completely bloated. There's a basically a squad of crap listed above, I'd be surprised if there's any other team, especially one pushing for promotion with that much rubbish.

If we have a few injuries to a few key players, ie. Neil / Jobe / Hume / Cirkin we will, without a doubt, be sliding fast towards League One. It happened last season with Clarke and we haven't even sorted it yet.

The funny ones are the people that defend them saying they do put money on when required as spending fees like £1m and £2m on players. :lol:

Didn't realise he was still only 23 (according to the BBC article).
No issue with him wanting away to play in the PL and fully get the club can't have an unhappy player but at that age and with 2-years left on his contract, as a business we should be pushing for a higher fee (or a very significant % sell on clause). Let's be honest he's got the potential to play in the PL for what 8years, and it would be some feat for Ipswich to stay there that long. He'll have another move in him.

It's the club who should have held firm here.

It's even more upsetting that I actually thought we were going to for once as well. More fool me.

Was resigned to losing him this window, so not surprised to see him go and hold no ill will at all whatsoever towards Clarke, but the fact that we seem to be selling for such a low fee is a massive concern. Suggests that we're either massively lacking in ambition, in a dire financial state, or both.

Given his importance to us we shouldn't have accepted anything under £25 million IMO.

I reckon that’s definitely the case mind.

Leaving money on the table is the difference between signing a genuine replacement.

Hope I’m wrong and they shock me but it’s not going to happen is it?
