Jack Clarke

So you just give your best player away at a lower price? You then have to replace him with less money, even though he has two years left on his contract?

How do you know he was unhappy? Everything suggests he was happy here apart from wanting to play PL, everything.

Genuinely amazed at how many people are using various ways pf justifying us not getting market value for him. 20m or you don't get him, not 15m + maybe 5m.

That £5-10mn left on the table will be the difference between replacing Clarke or not imo.

Assuming they get Wilson and Simic - then that will be it I guess. Unless we get a loan, which isn’t a real replacement for Clarke.

I can accept him leaving, but the fee is not enough. It’s poor.

I’ll be very interested to see what happens in the rest of the window. Hopefully KLD surprises me and gets those 2 plus a genuine replacement for Clarke, but I doubt it.

Not to disparage @Scotty 1978, but the lad getting info from Jack's lass seems more definitive.

It's all over the press. It's done. He's gone.
He stated he was discussing it with family and thinking it over. Obviously didn’t take much thinking if Romano is right and Jack is booked in for his medical this morning, he must have been driven down over night.

Some fans will still believe KLD and co when they bang on about promotion. We have a poorer team now than the one that narrowly avoided relegation last year. Le Bris must have a feeling of deja vu after what happened to him last year.
If all we are is a self funded club that is can’t invest without selling players the fans may as well buy this guy out and we run it ourselves. Literally zero point in having a pennyless 12 year old billionaire owning the club if they don’t invest.

Aw shit was really hoping we’d keep him. Romano is rarely wrong like. Maybe that’s why they are bring Isidor in then, cos he can play left side
Aye, I’m gutted like. Must be playing a front 3 like Liverpool? It’ll be interesting to see who comes in to replace him. I’d like Tom Watson to start coming on for some minutes in games.

He has brought in some very good young players and he deserves huge credit for this
However his biggest achiement by a country mile his in his indoctrination of our supporters and turning them into pound shop accountants.
I have watched Sunderland for over 50 years and during all this time the fans main concerns were getting good players and trying to win something..
Only since he took over have a significant proportion of fans starting going on about "sustainability ' and whether we make a profit on players.
Time and again fans excuse the lack of ambition with references to sustainability and claim that other clubs will be in trouble for showing ambition. The job he has done on our fans dwarfs all his other achievements.
The reason is because if we can sell players for big fees then we can bring in better players. To me we've sold a bit low here, but if we add some really good attackers using this money and say Mundle and Watson start to look the part, we could be a better team overall.

It's not like these fans are worrying about the Louis-Dreyfus estate, we want the club to spend the money.

Strange move. There’s clearly a big chance Ipswich will go straight back down.

Hopefully we can wave as we pass them going the other way.
