Roko Simic - potential signing

just discovered this person exists on planet earth, watched 2 minutes of highlights from him. Absolute stud and I stand by it until his first bad game with the club

I'm as pissed as anyone getting rid of Clarke expecially if that fee is true.

However if that money is allowing us to bring in Simic and Isodor I really think they look like next level signings and we may potentially be better for it.

That's how the model works, we sell 1 better player abs bring in 2 or 3 higher calibre players, it's the only way to grow.

Should we get Mendy as well, then our attack will look far more dangerous than it did with Clarke and Mayenda.

If he doesn't for any reason, that's a disaster for Speakman & Co.
He's their compensation for giving away Clark. They have to sign a decent striker this week if Clark goes or they are flecked.
We got the money now and if rumours are correct got this lad lined up and the lad from russia may well be good business.
Mendy there when we want him anarl.
The model, for those who believe in it is working.
Be an interesting day today guessing the team selection.

Im not against "the model", Im just not sure its optimised yet.
Selling Clark for 15m and scrambling to find a striker all summer feels desperate to me.

This is my view as well. The "model" has always been to sell a player for decent profit, then reinvest at a higher level. Majority of our team were bought for fees in region of £0-£2m. We've now sold Clarke for a sizeable fee, so we're now targeting players for £3m-£4m. This is the sustainable growth they talk about.

People are unsure currently cos we've not seen how this part works yet. But if these new lads come in and kick us on they will have the whole fanbase on board

Is that £3-4 mill each or combined?

If youre not in the Premier league every club is a feeder club to those who are riding the golden gravy train....not just in the championship but most of europe
I know it’s not much consolation for the bairns but it’s always been like this. First time in my supporting career it was Colin Todd.
It has got worse. Money more concentrated in the PL and promoted teams have only the exciting race against relegation to look forward to. Maybe the thrilling battle for Europa league spots if you get lucky and manage to hang on to your good players (should you somehow hang on to enough of them to have a good season.)
