Jack Clarke

Gutting but you can’t blame him one bit, tbh.

He’s definitely good enough for a crack at the PL. He could’ve left after the play off season but probably hung about to see if we could give it an ever better go the season after and get to the prem. Unfortunately, that season we sacked the manager early doors, hired probably the worst manager available at that time, sacked him replaced with Dodds and told that we just need to ‘plod on’ for the remainder of the season.

His ambition to play in the PL don’t align with the club’s and as arguably the best player in the championship you can’t expect him to hang around for ever if it’s obvious we aren’t going to give it a proper go. The fee is absolutely pathetic though I must admit.

This is the model at work successfully. Develop and sell. The likes of Ballard, Patterson, Rigg and co signing new 3 and 4 year contracts need to know that should the time be right for them to move on to bigger and better, then the club will not stand in their way. That's how we get them to sign new deals which are basically just bargaining chips for when a deal is to be done.

It's up to us now to invest the money soundly and progress ourselves to become the bigger and better option. I'd 100% take £20 million from Ipswich over £25 million from Leeds. That would be hard to swallow losing him to a championship rival.

Pissed off this morning. I’d managed to just about convince myself we’d sell Ekwah, use the money to buy a striker and hold onto Clarke (unless a gigantic bid came in) and have a real go at it.

Maybe it’s just because I’m annoyed, but I’m now suspecting a small fraction of the Clarke money will be spent on these two new lads and the rest will disappear, then we’ll realise we’ve already spent it on the stadium and the new shop.

I actually don't think we'd get big money for Ballard at this point, he'll be 25 next month.

When it comes time to sell Rigg though we have to be holding out for 30-40 million.

Hopefully we get a couple of seasons from him first.

Hope he gets a series of LND esque injuries. Also hope Ipswich lose every game this season 5-0 and then go out of business.
I hope they stay up and he scores goals so we get full fee for him then he gets a move to bigger club in few seasons time

How that money is invested, if at all, remains to be seen

Thats my worry. RLB saying he trained and is available for the weekend as well earlier :lol

We go 1 down early and place will sharp turn, despite the good start to the season. Always feels like we're on a knifedge at home
It's bad like. Guaranteed the Clarke chant is sang as well. We need to back the team and new manager who have started the season very well .

Gutted to lose him but I’d accepted that long ago. I’m surprised we’ve managed to keep on to him for this long.

What’s pissing me off is the price. You see much worse players going for a lot more money. He’s easy worth £30m upfront in this market.

And I hate the thought of that prick Ian Harte getting a big pay day.

Gutted. Especially when I’ve no confidence that the money (however low it is) will be spent either on a replacement or a striker.

Not so much this but the Paltry sum we’re giving him away for upsetting most fans
Serious question. Would it make a difference if it turned out there was a 30% sell on fee? Or if the add ons were basically like he plays 20 games so guaranteed we'd be paid 20 mill?

Don't get me wrong I think it's a tad low like but the way some are going on like it's mass betrayal need to get a grip. This is minor compared to BCB incident

Morning all..up for work..feel flat as anything...gutted he's gone but we move on..players leave on but fans are constant..will be there as always tommorow backing the lads will be strange not seeing Jack there ripping up the full backs but he's gone sadly.
HWTL...STID...FTM.

This, it's not the fact we've sold him (all teams sell players) it's the price.

£25-30m and you'd accept the fact you've just lost your best player but £15m, haway man.🤷‍♂️
