Jack Clarke

I’m hoping it’s more than the 15 being discussed. Still haven’t seen the ROI on the Stewart sale truly come to fruition, if this bundle doesn’t bear fruit I can’t see how Speakman can ever claim the model is a success, if he’s the one running it.

We got half of what Bristol City got for Alex Scott, I don't even the get the 'only two years left' stuff either, as he'd still be worth 10m+ in a year if we were in the Champ (and even more if we went up because we kept him).
The list of poorer players going for more money is as long as my arm. Feels like there’s a rabbit away somewhere.

They played Stewart right last summer, everyone was sad to see him go but ok with it because we got a decent fee for an injured player with not long left on his deal. This is the complete opposite.

Aye, just doesn't make sense. It's not acceptable even without the sell-on but Romano makes it sound like Clarke has kicked up a fuss (even though Le Bris made out that it was business as usual).

Life as a Championship club - Blackburn lost their golden boot winner, Norwich are being picked over, Hull have lost their best player, Coventry had to cope with losing Hamer and Gyokeres. The reality is, the best players in the championship either go up with their teams or get picked off by the bigger clubs - few of the best players in the Championship actually stay with a Championship club for 2+ seasons.

This is the biggest test, if we reinvest the money and can continue to build a squad, we'll have done well. We still have some great pieces in the middle of the park, we have a lot of youth that could seize this opportunity, and we can add a bit more talent with this money. Let's see what happens.

That also doesn’t fit with what we’ve known of him, and what someone with a line to him on here is saying.

That strikes me as the club trying to shift the narrative to excuse accepting a shit deal. Romano is being fed it by someone.

Possibly aye but also have to take into account that Ian Harte would have been in his ear all day.

Selling your best player for what will be what £11m is an absolute joke no of buts or maybes no one can defend this sale. Youlll have fans falling over themselves with mental gymnastics to do so though. They are lucky we got off to a good start as of not people would be even more livid.

I actually think its the opposite, people are more pissed off because the first 2 games have shown a glimpse of the potential this season which has now seemingly been decimated by selling our best player.

I'll give them till the end of the window though, despite mayenda's promise we are desperate for striker with some pedigree, if simic is the guy he certainly wont come cheap, perhaps they've weighed it up and just decided this was the correct thing to do, only time will tell. We couldnt keep on relying on our left winger to score all the goals.

The club have clesrly been using Romano for a while. And they use him purely to influence the support. Look at the time he sent that tweet man..it's pathetic.
