I don’t think it’s a surprise at all that he looks to be away and I wish the lad all the best of luck as he deserves his chance in the big league. The fee though if true is an absolute joke when you look at the likes of Liam de lap going for the same pretty much. Nothing we can do I suppose.

For Ipswich, they’ve got a player with potential for a decent fee that might come good in the top flight. If so, he can help keep them up and / or make them profit. For Sunderland, they’ve money in the bank, proof of financial sustainability and good FFP books and the opportunity to go and buy three unproven bairns that might make a few quid profit in three years time.

It’s a deal that works for all parties except Sunderland supporters.

Oh, and Spurs and Ian Harte make a few bob as well.

The supporters are the last thing on KLD’s mind, we are an irrelevance in the overall scheme of things.
 
This "they used to be in league 1" bollocks is silly like. If another club said it about us we'd be pissing ourselves at it. Completely irrelevant to anything.
