Wrong totally consistent.
My gripe has always been we have assembled an excellent young team but over the last 2 years we under achieved because the management would not spend the money to bring in the strikers we needed.

Nope . My argument has always been . Why assemble a talented creative young team if we don't invest in effective strikers to finish off their good work

He even joked about being pissed when he'd not long signed (I think) and he was going on a warm weather training trip under O'Neill. Class that eh. Getting paid to play professional football, played utter shite and it's no wonder.

The fans called it mind, we didn't want him and made it clear. The club made a shocking decision there, twice.

The fact he returned was a piss take.

Danny Graham wasn’t very good for Sunderland, however danny Graham at his peak was a fringe premier league striker, he scored regularly in the championship and had a decent spell in the prem.

I can’t see rusyn ever getting to that level, mayenda has a lot of potential, but currently there’s absolutely no way you can predict he’ll be better than Graham based on one good championship performance.

Graham wasn’t good for us, but if rusyn or mayenda match his goals in decent/good leagues, they’ll have had decent careers.

It's helpful sometimes to read the context behind the quote you are replying to.

My take "Danny Graham is not better than Mayenda or Rusyn" was in reply to "If only. Better than what we currently have" which was in reply to "Watch [Mendy] be the second coming of Graham".

Within that context, it's pretty clear that they meant Graham at this club not Graham in General. Especially since they were also taking about Altidore who has had a terrific career at pretty much every club but us.

Likewise saying Le Bris will be a new David Moyes or Howard Wilkinson probably doesn't imply people think he'll win the English League or a European Trophy.

Mayenda and Rusyn have both already surpassed Graham in league goals scored at Sunderland. I would not swap either for Graham given his performances here in the same way I'd also not swap Le Bris for Moyes or Wilkinson. The fact they did well elsewhere is about as relevant as Rodwell's league medal.

Good. Force their hand one way or the other. We can't be pissing around close to the deadline, only for them to charge us a couple of million more.

If we can't get him then let's move on. I can't imagine a french second division side can afford to have an unhappy player who they can't sell though.

If we think we only need one striker and not Mendy in addition to the other lad coming in they're completely off it though.
