Jack Clarke

As ive said a friend leeds fan is adamant they are getting clarke.
I'm a Lads fan, and I'm adamant that they're not.

Thats ones apiece then. 😁
We weren't prepared to go anywhere near that for Stewart mind.
Because Stewart is made of Pringles and we got good money for.

Not worth anywhere near that now.

We were well shot of him.

Why not just sign a contract on a bumper pay increase and insert a release clause for 25m? Surely it’s a win win for all parties?
That deal wouldn't suit clarke or his agent. This time next year no one is paying £25m for him when he has 12 months left of his deal. If there is a release clause it needs to be at a level which would realistically get him a move next year whilst still returning a decent fee for us. I think something like £18m would be a reasonable compromise to become active once this window closes.

So even if someone comes and takes him January, £18m probably represents a decent fee for us given he'd only have 18 months left.

But surely offering him a new deal would be adding 1/2/3 years on to the length of contract?? So his value wouldn’t depreciate as you describe it. You wouldn’t offer him more money and a min fee release clause and not extend the term?? The club would have to protects itself so in that case it would suit Clarke

Liverpool life's Leeds source has this inside information.

you would think a few clubs would look at the lad, top league?

It would not be a huge gamble compared to the asking price for players in the premier.

It would have to be the right money.

I do think he will go but not to Leeds, Brentford, Ipswich, even West Ham someone like that must be looking at him and think it’s worth a go

Very surprised the recently promoted teams are not sniffing about.

Will be guaranteed to get you back up if you go down and is clearly good enough to play in the Premier league based on his fitness levels alone - for all the quality he's got he's still grafting at 90+ minutes.

You can't teach that.

He'll get between 5-10 goals in a Premier league season. Some of them will be the difference between going down and staying up.

Outside of the top flight, he is already at the biggest club in the country.
A move to Leeds, or anyone outside of the Prem is a step backwards.
Arguabley, a move to a lot of Prem clubs would be a backward step for him.
The time to worry is when the likes of Spurs (unlikely, as they let him go) or similar come sniffing again.
Until then he will stay put, and will extend his contract.

Knars. 😁

Suppose Clarke is currently in £15k per week and has two years left. So club would pay him about £1.5m over the rest of his contract. Yet if he leaves they think they are entitled to £25m for him.

Can’t understand why more players don’t run their contracts down like Mbappe.

Sssshhh, stop announcing how good he is and what he’ll give you!

We need to keep telling everyone he’s shite and will be a waste of money.
