If Clark does go Benson would be a more than adequate replacement but I reckon we would just make do with Mundle to save some coppers

Except for that fact that it is up to Jack Clarke. If he doesn't want to go, he won't. He can encouraged to sign elsewhere but unless he literally says, "OK, I will sign that contract" and puts pen to paper on it, he is our player. Therefore it is upto Jack.
