100% correct. However I think there's more than enough evidence now of the ownership taking a cautious approach to finances and transfers.

This. If @skunk hater and @Di Canios Knees are saying a contract extension is agreed (and I have no reason to doubt them) then he’s obviously happy here and happy with the terms of the extension, including wages.

That's probably a decent shout.... more so either the deal structure allowed for say 9m up front then the rest in installments.

Even if somebody goes to 25m
The chances are it'll be in a payment structure the the initial down payment will be a bit higher.

I can't see leeds dropping this money on Clarke..

Hes almost always plays happy ( that is he turns up and contributes)... why wouldn't he... hes the star player here.
