I’d be disappointed to lose Clarke for any fee at the moment.

Couldn’t care less about the club getting more cash, it’s about winning games not bank balance.

Got no idea why he’d entertain going to Leeds mind.
Bet he’s not entertaining it. Just his wanker of an agent trying to unsettle the player so he can get his next payday.

Frustrating this mind, Should be an ultimatum made to interested parties that if they meet our valuation of 25M+ it has to be done by this week to allow us to reinvest.

Pointless selling him on deadline day and saying Mundle or Poveda is the replacement.

As much as people don't want to hear it - Mundle is likely Clarke's replacement and was likely signed with that in view. The idea we're suddenly going to go out and spend big is fanciful.

They don't necesserially need to go out and spend 25M or whatever they get on Clarke, but they need to significantly reinvest to make the whole squad better otherwise its utterly pointless.

Or even up his money here.

I don't doubt if a PL club is in he'd want to test himself again. But as much as Leeds is a bit closer to home and he has previous there there's no guarantees they will go up or can even afford him, just because they've sold players.

The club will want a return on him though, he’s going whether we like it or not, and the club will not want to lose him for nout. He’s obviously not interested in signing a new contract. Or we won’t offer the money he wants.

Absolutely. And at some point if we're going to really progress it needs stepping up a touch - I've no problem with signings like Mundle who need game and the others, but we need a core of experience and quality to remain competitive.

Very much doubt he’ll go to Leeds. Less chance of going up than we have. Prem or top european league or nowt. Personally I think we will reject offers under 25m, and he’ll sign a new deal a week or two after the window closes when no one meets the valuation.

This has a bad feel about it tbh. Everything seems to be pointing towards Clarke fancying the move. I’ve a horrible feeling Clarke will be gone or refuse to play against Burnley

As I just said on the other thread, I'm worried the club will want to sell before he gets into the final 18 months and final 12 months of his deal and losing £10m off his value.

A think Leeds is the only place he ends up tbh, they have the money for the fee and can double his wages. Not sure its the right move for him personally but thats football at the end of the day.
