Jack Clarke

That's a big if.

Only Ipswich and Southampton have had any decent sort of interest? And since then, they've signed other players - Ipswich Szmodics and Saints with Brereton-Diaz and Archer?

Both could still come in for Clarke.

But if neither do, then moving to Leeds would still be more beneficial to Clarke than staying.

The only other reason for Clarke to stay, would be thinking he likely has more options come next summer or 2026 when he's free.
Or he could be staying because he feels at home and happy with his life . On the playing side it couldn't be going much better , so why risk it all to start all over again . Who knows what the offer is, it could only be a few grand between both offers.

If he goes, he goes but it will be on our terms, if those terms mean we keep him until his contract runs out then we have had a couple of years where he has stayed with us and we will have benefitted
Benefitted from allowing his contract to run out, when he's a £10m+ asset right now?

Heard it all now.
Weren’t leeds expected to go up last season too, before they fu**ed it up again?
That's correct. And wasn't it beautiful to see?

Not according to the bookies.

Bookies markets are usually quite sound. They have Leeds as a shoe-in for top 6...

Only Burnley are more fancied than Leeds to finish higher up the table, this season.
Bookies odds are also affected by where the money is going. Parachute clubs alwyas tend to be favoured.

Yes Leeds are more likely to go up than us, but they're in a much weaker position to do so than last year.

The only thing in their favour is the dross that came down makes it less of a closed shop, although Burnley are out the tracks like a train

yea Jack Clarke is gonna move to a team in the same league, pushing for the same aspirations, cos the bookie odds are a bit better. which are based in bets, not predications. If a million people bet on me becoming PM, the odds will shorten and it'll still be impossible.

We got many more assets it isn’t all about Jack Clarke anymore, plenty of options around selling and re-investing.

We may feel keeping him and moving someone else on is of greater benefit.

The obsession here is hilarious imagine being this invested in another clubs player 🤣🤣🤣

The squads, the experience and the managerial team.

Agree. That might upset the applecart more than it should. But I imagine Leeds will reinvest some of that transfer money, in the next couple of weeks. Their squad is still decent for a top 6 finish and a couple of signings, they'll be right in the mix for the top 2, again.

Farke has gained promotion out of this division on a number of occasions.

Reggie has a relegation on his CV and that's pretty much it.
And crashed and burned after every one.

I think he'll be a Sunderland player until January, if we look like we've a chance of going up he'll be here til the end of the season, if not then thats when he'll be off. If we don't go up this season (I think we'll be in and around the play offs but not sure we'd win then if we get in) then he will be a prem player next season with or without us. I think he's being smart, could probably have went to Southampton if he'd pushed for the move but little point in joining a team who will most likley come straight back down. Another season here racking up goals and assists won't hurt him at his age.

He’s hilarious isn’t he I reckon we should let him stay 🤣🤣

Exactly. Since then they’ve lost Gray, Somerville, about to lose Ruiter apparently.

I think they’re quite a way off Burnley and Sheff Utd this season. They’ll be in and around playoffs again at best i would imagine.

Not hard to understate get two years of one of the best players in the league, not sure how that’s not benifting mind. And as much as I’m not a massive fan of this e running things here they’ve shown they can get top dollar regardless of what’s left on a contract see Stewart £10m for a lad with 12 months left and hadn’t kicked a ball properly for close to a season.

Haway man he’s clearly an expert on this and clearly an expert in our club despite being a Boro or Leeds fan 🤣
