As much as I loved Mowbray, we didn’t really do attacking plans beyond “just get on with it and have some fun lads”

It was apparent to see a bit more variation, some work on set pieces, forwards running the channels, and yes, some variety from Clarke and Roberts. All very promising. Bring in someone senior for Mayenda to learn from now…

Good point! While I have been critical of him for not getting his own Assistant Manager in I certainly can’t complain about the start he has made. And as you said he certainly has implemented his own tactical ideas.

Looking at his post match interview on YouTube, he still wasn't completely happy and was looking for improvement. He's not going to settle simply for "good enough"
