The Hundred 2024

Hope they insist or allowed to change the competition to T20 to reflect the unbelievably success IPL
I wouldn't have thought so.

Remember, we were told that broadcasters wanted a shorter format in order to show the games on free to air telly, a T20 game was too long.

Unless you think that the marketing around the launch of the 16.4 was a load of bullshit?

Surely ECB wouldn't spout bullsh!t!?
If the Indian wealth buys in it'll be Star/Disney who will have the tv rights.
ECB will have no TV income.
given their claim that the tv de a l as totally dependant on the Hundred format.

Yeah biggest mistake they have made, T20 competition in designated window works in every other country, the new one in South Africa seems to have took off straightaway, we should have done the same.

Will not be surprised at all if Indian investors come in that the competition reverts to T20 in fact hope it does.
Personally think they were trying to be too clever by been different why change a format that as completely took off worldwide

Itv4 were the first channel to show ipl, if they can manage it...

No,some enjoy it,others don't. You appear to be unable to accept that concept.
No just making the point that a good game of cricket is a good game of cricket irrespective of the tournament it’s played in and whatever level.

If you watch a close game in under 11s, Under13s, under 18s, local club level, blast, county championship, international, people have enjoyed it for as long as cricket has existed.

Yet when a same similar close game played in this tournament apparently it’s not enjoyable!!!

What is a good or enjoyable game of cricket is a matter of opinion not a fact. You can't impose enjoyment.

You can’t, but imagine a situation where you stumble on a game of cricket say for instance, in this country on holiday where the scoreboard says a team needs 50 off 40 balls for instance and the game goes backwards and forwards twists and turns game won of the last ball of the game and you walk of at the end and say to yourself I thoughly enjoyed that.

Then at the end of the game you get talking to some bloke who says the local league have decided to play their cup ties of 100 balls and that was one of those games.

Does that mean you decide to not enjoy what you had enjoyed for the previous 45 mins or so???

That's not a realistic scenario. If they were playing a variety of cricket shots and not slogging across the line it would probably keep my attention. We simply have totally different perspectives of this tournament. I don't see why you can't accept that

Yeah I can accept that people have made up their mind to not enjoy the cricket in this tournament irrespective of how good or close the games are.

Agree.

No,the point you can't or won't see is they don't regard it as good cricket. You do,no problem. Just accept that others are entitled to their own opinion which conflicts with yours. That's the core impasse on this continuing saga.
