Leeds will not pay what we want for him, they cant afford it. A rumour started on twitter has grown its own legs and ran. Actually confident he will be here when the window closes.

There's a couple of canny stories doing the rounds of Cloughie bombing players out.

Cloughie, a brilliant striker of course, loved a target man getting the ball into feet and keeping it. Or chesting it down or heading it back to his own players. 1 striker who 'he' had just bought (it was rarely him, Peter Taylor and others did all of the scouting / recommending) casually flicked the ball on to nobody in particularly and Cloughie went ballistic on the side lines. A few minutes later he did exactly the same thing and Cloughie hauled him off.

At half time he was doing the team talk and towards the end he said to the player:

'Ere so and so, have you managed to move out of that hotel and found a house yet?'

'Er no boss, but I'm going to look at one tomorrow.'

'I wouldn't bother if I were you.'

Never played for the club again.

Reading the “provided you don’t kiss me” book at the minute and it’s brilliant! Before my time, but love reading up on this kinda stuff. Proper characters in the game aren’t allowed or are frowned upon now, shame.

The OP has just liked a post of mine on this thread. Taking it as a good sign he is active but hasn’t gone back on his original statement.
