Has anyone ever signed a new contract then moved days later though?
Wasn’t there a feller who signed for two clubs in one day?
I’m hazy on the detail but I think Bolton signed him on a free transfer and then sold him as soon as he signed?

Edit; had to google it, but it was Didi Hamann

We offered Rutter same terms as Brighton to try and keep him. Wages wouldn't be a problem. There are a few on over 50k a week in our squad.
Makes a mockery that parachute payments being so generous now that you could potentially “add” more 50k contracts.

The whole point was to stop clubs getting into much trouble if they couldn’t sell some players on big contracts. Gone too far the other way now

And that’s not a dig at Leeds by the way, just the gap between prem/ parachute clubs/ championship teams has become ridiculous

Rowe plays for Norwich not Leeds. The reason they had to sell players is allegedly they owe loads of money out for previous transfers
I know that. Leeds have been heavily linked with him but the last day is he’s heading for Marseille which is what I said !

Yes, although he signed a pre-contract agreement only with Bolton, and then went to City the following day. Bolton agreed to rip up the pre-contract agreement, so technically he was never a Bolton player.

David Unsworth signed for Villa, then 2 days later went back to Everton 🤷‍♂️.

Clive Allen signed for Arsenal on big money from QPR one summer, then was swapped for Kenny Sansom (with Palace) before the season started.

Leeds aren’t what they were even 2 years ago.

A lot better than the days Ridsdale was there, my mate would get an invite to eat from his executive box P.A. He’d come back stuffed.

One for us Oldies
Clive Allen in 1980
Went to Arsenal for a mill then onto Palace days later
A couple of months later, but still within the same summer break, so your point is valid. Rumour is that Palace always wanted him but QPR wouldn’t deal with them, so the deal with Arsenal was cooked up, then left for a couple of months to seem less dodgy.

Yes mate

The Ron Noades Fan Club never had many members

I’m working on the proviso that he never played a first class game for Arsenal

John Sheridan and Gary Megson at Forest are another two

Shez would have been far too gobby for Cloughie
