Jack Clarke

Mentioned it before and still think the same. I think the club will be secretly desperate for somebody to bid over £20m and they can sell.

What's the end game? He isn't going to sign a new deal I suspect as he's gonna want £20m player wages if that's what we value him at. If he doesn't leave now then he's into the last 18 months of his deal by January and his price will start to plummet.

I think last season we only spent what we sold and we've spent nothing again this year so there's clearly no funds to dip into so they aren't going to let £20m reduced to nothing.

Club will want him gone for max value and that's this summer. Unless he signs an extension but I can't see it.

All being said. A move to Leeds isn’t a massive step up. They’ve sold 3/4 of their best players and no guarantees they go up…wages probably the main thing….
It's only finances that would make sense, they have just received a couple of huge fees and will be getting about £30m from parachute payments this season. I hope it's not true but if it happens I won't be surprised. Pressure will be on to spend some money ourselves then.

Cos can understand if he wants to better himself in the prem league now then fair enough. But to go to another championship club who are prepared to pay the wages he wants/deserves shows they have ambitions and we dont.
That's football. Leeds have raked in £150m in sales this Summer. They can offer Clarke a shit load more wages than us and a chance to play for the team he supports. It'll be sad if we lose him but that's the game.
