His club will have a valuation for him, and club wanting him will either have to hit that of come very close. Its been said that the Mbappe's would rather keep him and you can see why so it's not like he's been put on the transfer list or they're desperate to got shot.

The only reason this continues to drag on under their new ownership is because we've not come close to their valuation of him....its really that simple.

I'm not arguing with any of that. That's facts. I am just saying a players worth isn't determined by what the holding club say. It is what they will accept and is agreed. If we said Clarke was worth 100 million and no one bid 100 million (I'm exaggerating to just prove the point) then it doesn't mean the player is worth 100 million.

I hope this gets sorted but i don't want our bollocks tickled in the deal. I don't mind add ons for promotion etc. We need a big hold up player who can also score. We should have gone full on for Kieffer Moore in hindsight as he has actual experience in this league. This lad is from the French 2nd division. If we are not close we have to move on and stop fannying around. Still put us back months by ditching us as an option and we can't afford to be caught out on the striker front again

It is that simple. It seems we’re then split into those who would pay up to 4 million and say the club are tight bastards and those who think Caen are overvaluing him.

I’m guessing the club are negotiating. Again there are those who maybe think Caen are being fair / unfair. There are those who think the club are idiotic and have never negotiated and those who trust them. In common, we all want a striker and will worry about this season till we get one. There is probably a grey area between being had and being too cautious. There is probably a grey area between patience and gobbing off repeatedly.
 
The Chronicle (very unreliable) are reporting a source in France saying the move is looking unlikely. If that is true then I hope we haven’t wasted all this time haggling when we could have moved to other targets.

Not like The Chronicle to stir the pot. I see they deliberately miss out the bit where Mendy didn’t return to train with the rest of the group the day after he was seen in training.
 
Our model is great when purchasing defenders and midfielders, cause naturally there are more of these players to scout/purchase.

A good striker is like gold-dust and there's 4 or 5 times less of them than other positions

Scrap the model for stikers and get ya goal scorer in KLD
 
Following the conclusion of the transfer window, Kristjaan Speakman has offered his thoughts on the business:

Listen, everyone knows finding a prolific 20+ goal a season striker is a notoriously difficult market, and we are one of a number of teams competing against all the names available. We have learned from our mistakes and will adjust the parameters accordingly going forward to 0-200k to yield better results. We believe in the squad we have at our disposal.”

Not sure about that like a lot of the defenders and midfielders we have signed are very poor
