SoL To Undergo Multi-Million-Pound Investment Programme

It wouldn't have been anything like Spurs ground though. It would've been a basic extension and everything else left the same.

The stadium was pretty much new in 2006 (9 year old).

It's totally incomparable.
I get what you mean about the amount of fans we’d have attending being spread around a bigger ground.

I think if we extended and improved the corporate areas and added more boxes we’d have a better chance of getting other events on at the stadium, outside of our own team’s use of it.
Spend money on the pitch - get a good team

Get a good team - get promoted

Get promoted - more money

Much rather it that way than some flashy lights and a loud speaker
I’d rather spend £20m this summer trying to get promoted to get £100m+ in the PL. Even if we came straight back down. Some owners would spend on both — infrastructure and the team.

Aye no arguments, imo we need to get out of this league first before any major stadium upgrades, like the post above yours says. The extra revenue from the Premier League would help pay for the extensions etc and whatever you fancied doing that's maybe non football related, there's enough space if using the car parks.

Doing it the other way round just seems the wrong way around. Obviously for balance doing any form of expensive work which would then be scrapped if it was extended would be stupid aswell.

I agree. If KLD was throwing money at the team and it was helping us get promoted, and still was happy to spend money on the stadium he could start as early as possible. But as we’ve seen this summer again, we’re not exactly investing money on the playing staff…

I'm sure these improvements are actually to get the SoL ready for the women's world cup really.

Or at least use the money from WC to pay for them whichever way you look at it.

I'd imagine it's more to get the safety certificate. Not having a working PA would fail it, only so long you can drag it out and a fair few of the floodlights were broken last season and have been for awhile now.

They're not really 'improvements' - more fixing things basic things. Improvements would be refurbishing the concourses etc.

Must admit I know little on sound systems etc, if I had to be honest, but if you're replacing it, might aswell get something decent which lasts rather than going for the cheapest crap around and then replacing it again soon. Credit, where it's due, if they haven't done that ie. Donald and the pink seats again.

Speakers are a safety issue. It's a joke it's took this long to sort them out.

Let's be fair there must be a reason why they are spending the money or they wouldn't be.

For most clubs it would...

He plays mint tunes. What would you like to hear?
He should play some classic anthems that most people can buy into- most other clubs play stuff that can take the atmosphere up a notch -I've never heard a decent tune from his playlist yet
