Never tried that. We had a really good meal at a seafood place right on the beach as well. Can’t remember the name. It was just at the crossroads on main drag.

My missus isn't a fan of seafood. I did have some swordfish though in a taverna. Quite nice it was.
There's another resort next door (Letsos/Alykanas I think) that had a few places. We went here one day and had a canny day. They do evening theme nights but you have to book up.

We went to Alykanas a few times when the kids were younger. Really nice beach, nice relaxed feel to the place and there used to be an old shipwreck (might still be there) you could plodge/swim out to.
Always enjoyed meals at Mantalena (very family oriented) and The Mill during the day did decent food.
Nice little resort but would be too quiet for our needs now.

Have a late evening mythos at Freddies while the sun sets. Its absolute perfection.
Bit of a random back street to get to it down by the original contessina. You'll thank me after.

Canny view from this villa in Crete. About 10km from Rethymnon. It's so quiet! Can't hear cars or owt... downside is there's nothing here!

I think the closest town is 'Adele but we're up a hill from there... it's really gorgeous but not a lot here at all!

We were in that area at Roumeli (nowt much there either)about five years ago and were about three miles inland from Panormos which was ten miles from Rethymnon.

Ha Ha I’ve stayed there twice. We prefer to be closer to the town so we don’t have to mess on with the ring road. Nice apts though and yes it’s a great island

I’ve booked to go back to Skiathos in three weeks time. Just for a week but that’ll do as we know the island and have got the t shirt.
