People were clambering for us to sign Langstaff from League 2 Notts County man, a player who has so far spent 2 seasons of his career playing above National League North level.

Players hit their peaks at different age but if he’s done it in the second tier of France (which is probably about high League One level) 3 years in a row, there’s no reason why I can’t do it in the second tier of England, but it’s a risk, as all signings are.

There’s a long list of players who didn’t start scoring goals until their late 20s, equally there’s a long list of players who scored goals in their teens and early 20s but not after that, peaks are different for all athletes.

You can’t look at a player and say “60 goals in 3 years in Ligue 2… SHITE”
