And are we unwilling to pay that or are they asking for more? There’ll be a lot of ‘who blinks first’ going on and they need to sort this or they’ll be unable to replace him. We don’t know what else is being weighed up. I know you get info but won’t get all info, so no point in losing the plot. I want a striker, we need one we all agree. Isn’t frustrating ? Yes. Frustrating enough for 15 posts a day going on about it? Maybe for some, not me. Something could emerge any second.

We would if your number one two three four and five chose elsewhere and our 6 and 7 won’t be free till deadline day. It’s clearly close but being negotiated. We could very well be negotiating elsewhere but this one made a loud noise. In a way if like us to get him because he’s keen. He also may not adjust to the pace and physicality so if it’s 4 million might get an oven ready.

It is literally just a who blinks first at this stage mate, I really think the deal will be done and both teams will compromise slightly on what they want, but that’s just my opinion.

We have identified him in or before June and here we are in August still ongoing, so if we didn’t want him and he wasn’t number one target we will have given up before now. Deal happens if I was a betting man.

I would pay it to be honest, we are desperate and the squad is ready to go outside of that position. Plus we have a squad that will fetch massive fees for a few players, so we are in no danger. Break the model for just this one deal, then we can still develop Mayenda from the bench.

I would be more inclined elsewhere. I think because we aren’t informed of the options or fed shit ones by the likes of Fishwife this grabs the focus.

I just don't think we will get someone with that sort of recent track record who seems such a stylistic fit for what we lack. I don’t expect it to happen tbh, I think we'll get a young PL loannee and leave us all fuming after deadline day.

i agree. They wont let him go for nothing but will accept lower rather than have a disaffected player stinking the place out . Its just how much lower . £2m rising to £3m would seem like middle ground

It’s annoying they had a change of ownership when we were looking to get him in on the cheap. Would have had him by now if the Mbappe clan didn’t get involved. :lol:

Plus the fees of said players will probably increase with having a striker to play off. More assists and goals as someone like Mendy will occupy opposition defenders. Also, the young strikers will learn a lot from him. Just need him or someone of his ilk in asap.
