She sounds like a lovely piece of work.It was the other way round in Thorpey's case as his first wife was shagging Tin Henman's coach whilst he was away and he took that very badly as outlined in his autobiography
Well, not quite the full picture actually. He admitted in his autobiography to a string of one-night stands and dalliances on tour himself. Barmaids appear to have been a trend. It’s complicated. It was the other way round in Thorpey's case as his first wife was shagging Tin Henman's coach whilst he was away and he took that very badly as outlined in his autobiography
Tragic but hate when people commit suicide by train. The impact that can have on the driver, passengers etc is awful. Can completely understand wanting to take ones own life, but putting it onto others essentially is awfulYou must be logged on to see external links

I'd imagine it's how desperate he was and to take it out of his hands. I just can't imagine the trauma train drivers must have to live with after the fact for just doing there job.It must be the most horrific way to go for everyone involved
Not just at the top, it's at every level. The club I play for here in Liverpool is very closely linked to Opening Up, after one of our former players took his life. It's the most brutal of sports at the top end of things. So much time away from the family, so much temptation when doing so – very little time in a top cricketer's life when they are not playing the game or travelling, training and touring each year.
I knew he had been battling mental health issues for a couple of decades and more. I guess I should have joined the dots. Just six months older than me. As mentioned previously here, born in same hospital too. I always had a connection. Devastating.
Poor Graham his wife and children.
PS very much liking your avatar, Dan x 4
I know it's human nature but I wish people would consider the effect that adultery can have on partners more. If you're not happy in a relationship do the right thing and split up before pursuing other people. It was the other way round in Thorpey's case as his first wife was shagging Tin Henman's coach whilst he was away and he took that very badly as outlined in his autobiography
It's getting better but there is still a huge stigma attached to mental health which means people don't talk about it honestly enough.Depression and anxiety are truly awful things to live with. There’s a long way to go in this country for people to really understand the effect it can have on people. Awful for all involved this one.
Don't mind admitting this has really affected me. He was a hero to me growing up, and so many others too it seems. Just so so sad.
I love a stylish left hander and he was as classy as they come.
RIP Thorpey.

Cricket for whatever reason seems to have a prevalence of suicide, my personal belief is that it could be to do with it the type of game it is, that it attracts a certain type, the introspective, deep/over thinkers.
I think they tend to be susceptible to this sort of thing, although I appreciate it doesn't discriminate and can affect anyone at any time.
Ive had moments myself and feel exactly as you do about the reasons not too. Tragic news for everyone who knew the man personally and my thoughts are with them and sorrow for the manI'd imagine it's how desperate he was and to take it out of his hands. I just can't imagine the trauma train drivers must have to live with after the fact for just doing there job.
Only reason I keep going is not being able to do it too myself and worry about the impact on others if I did something, or what if I didn't succeed. He will have just wanted it all to stop and after one failed attempt, wanted to be certain as he could be. Tragic all around.
But given how many fewer pro cricketers there are we’ve had David Bairstow and Peter Roebuck in recent memory. Many others open up about their mental health, inc the current England Test captain, who took time out to deal with it.
I don’t think people in such a desperate place are able to process such considerations unfortunately. Just so sad all round.Tragic but hate when people commit suicide by train.
