An almost Durham-like batting performance80/7 lovely
Exactly this ^^An almost Durham-like batting performance..... great from us today mind but christ we are inconsistant .....you never know how we are going to perform
Quite a few nearly on the pitch and on the ropeLooked like there was a decent crowd there today......possibly more than if it were held at Chester le street ?
Not sure about playing matches in another county altogether like... Is this normal?
I was on the bus down Gossy high street at about 630 and there was plenty of well dressed people spilling out along with obvious cricket fans.Looked like there was a decent crowd there today......possibly more than if it were held at Chester le street ?
I really enjoy the trip up there each year. We book car parking through just park literally round the corner (the flats in the corner of the ground) for £6. It's a more relaxed atmosphere and it's nice to be somewhere a bit different. Shame they didn't have the BBQ and bar like last year. Saw Danny Collins sinking about 20 pintsMore common than you might think. This season we have played Lancs at Sedbergh (Cumbria, formerly in Yorkshire) Middlesex at Radlett (Hertfordshire-though it was abandoned due to rain). Notts regularly play at Grantham (Lincolnshire) and Glamorgan play at Colwyn Bay (Conwy). There are probably others if I think hard enough. Durham have played a game a season at Gosforth for a few years now.
Gosforth is about 3 miles over the border from historical Co Durham (being the middle of the Tyne). There don’t appear to be any outgrounds in Co Durham who can accommodate a crowd of today’s size.
I know there are some (many?) on here who disagree with me, but I’d be happy to see Durham also playing some games in Cumbria and even Scotland. Get people interested and encourage support.
Trapdoor Stand on tour?3 people up from Hampshire sat on a bench next to them and it collapsed,
