Craft Beer

Good day yesterday in Liverpool. Went to carnival brewery and did a tour and tasting which was lovely, nice little setting and it’ll be popular once Everton’s stadium opens. Then had azvex brewery opposite which had a good range of beers on too

Random thought. I think we all agree that Sam Smiths Chocolate Stout is the king of chocolate stouts nobody has ever come close to surpassing it. Even at a sessionable strength, it’s still got loads going on to be interesting. Anyhow, has anybody ever had it on keg or cask? I’ve only ever had it in bottles & the times I’ve been to Sam Smiths pubs, they’ve had their core stout on tap.

Can't drink Stouts, Porters etc.
Suspect it's what brings on me gout...I miss them.... especially in the winter months....😥

This is the supermarket stuff in Ibiza. Pretty similar to the Superbok Black last year, like a dark malty lager rather than a stout. More drinkable than the standard lager like, but we’re self catering this year so I’ll have to buy a few from the hotel bar.
 
Not my usual.,.or craft....but had a lovely pint of Bass at the Half Moon in Durham
.,..and a memorable half of "stoopid" in the HolygrAle.....thickest sour I've ever had!

Came & found it in the first day at 7:30am in the morning, but just ended up drink San Miguel round the pool.

Rehills earlier, good selection, not quite what it was though. Prices on a few breweries seem to have gone up a fair bit compared to a couple of other places I look at, theyre online admittedly but rehills always seemed more competitive than it is now. Stout selection is better than last time but again a bit disappointing.

Lady greys now. Quite possibly my favourite pub.

Have only been in once since it changed hands. Vaux sub box has been delivered today but I’ll probably flatten that at Northern Kin this weekend.

I do like Lady greys as a pub but the bar staff are not the best and the beer selection can be underwhelming

The town mouse has Even sharks need water on along with a double ipa version of esnw called whale sharks.

Lad with the mullet with blonde highlights is spot on, despite the dodgy hair, some of the lasses less so. I think LG just hits the spot for me as it seems to be the one we always seem to head to. Mouse, Cat and Duck are all very good though.
 
Madrid for February will be booked soon. What’s it like for bars? Big stag do so, match planned & there’s a few Spaniards who I think might know the area, so I’m guessing a lot of it might be pre-planned. However, there’ll he be too many of us to stick together so I might be able to do beery things if there’s decent suggestions? Like a brewery tour?

There's only one craft brewery in Madrid and it's really, really tiny (Fabrica Maravillas). The city is great for bars though, it's endless.

Make sure you enjoy a Madri while over there. Always tastes better at the source.

I don't drink much bottled beer.....but I wouldn't mind trying some of those.....well....all of them really..😄

Anybody ever in Santa Eulalia, it’s worth going to. Only place a found that did anything different beer wise & the bait is class anarl. Basically the closest you’ll get to a UK craft type bar in beer & food menu & the place is cool as fuck. Just a bit gutted I didn’t pop down more than the twice we did.
