Alexandre Mendy (transfer rumour)

Sacking Mowbray wasn’t the issue, deciding that Beale was the man to replace him was.

TBH they should have had the courage of their convictions thanked Mowbray for an interim job well done and got someone in over the summer.

They never wanted Mowbray to stay and it showed with the apparent pursuit of farioli and the resulting straining of the relationship had a detrimental impact on our performances.

They have proved very good at the old self sabotage at times and for me the managerial situations we have found ourselves in is evidence of that……just feels like they are making it much harder than it needs to be
Beale made a bad squad worse. I was hugely critical of the decision to get Beale. The majority of the damage was done by speakman in that summer, its not yet been rectified either, which is a concern.

Not much they could have done about Alex Neil. He had been pally with the owner of Stoke for ages and they offered him a fortune. He used us to get his stock up again, albeit we got promotion out of it.

The Mowbray one was two unforced errors. Shouldn’t have sacked him, he’d turned a worse situation around previous season. Definitely shouldn’t have appointed Beale,

Don’t necessarily disagree but after hearing (directly from Speakman himself) that they were focused on succession plans (identifying future players and managers/coaches) which would see us planning well and preserving continuity I’ve been really disappointed with what felt like from the outside a real unstructured approach to managerial appointments

Learnt lessons have they?
Yep. Recruited genuine championship experience so far with players who can be 1st teamers.

Hired a coach who wants to high press and play with intensity which suits our squad.

A couple more pieces of the jigsaw to go but well on course imo this summer.

PS i know what your gonna refer to next with your frustrations....

Really,

Coaching staff, issues with fitness of key players, bringing bad form into this season from last, running us on.a shoestring still.......

Promotion would cheer us up, more chance of drugs than that of your tongue in cheek predictions

The same coaching staff that mowbray had us doing well with?

No idea which key players are unfit due to club handling them badly

Bad form into this season - eh?!

Running on a shoestring - nah, dont think we are, seems fairly normal budgeting imo.

Bad form from last, maybe you forgot the last 6 months.

The coaching staff was promoted when Mowbray left. They had little to do with first team training as Venus and Mowbray were hands on.

Look at our injury list, it's no coincidence the length of it over the years. Unless you believe it's all bad luck.

We're spending late 90s fees on.players with a top wage less than 20k per week. Judging by the teams that go up our wage budget is holding us back.

I'd wager you can't name anything that's gone wrong at safc ever.

would have made absolutely no difference. The problem wasn't Mowbray or Beale and even if we get a half reasonable start, we'll still struggle as the season moves on as the same issues remain.

If we don't get a half reasonable centre forward Le Bris will be under pressure come November time barring an absolute miracle.

Mowbray had dodds and proctor alongside him on matchdays and they ran the coaching sessions.

Injuries - nee fuckin idea tbh im sure theres a case for ehat you say but no idea if valid

Our spending - im not too fussed on figures im fussed on quality and i see plenty of it.

Theres lots gone wrong at safc but that doesnt make me constantly angry and bitter. It makes me able to see the good when its happening aswell and theres plenty of it.

Can you name any good things thats happened to safc on last 12 months?

I have no idea….but that’s what is happening. Sleepwalking to another shit show of a season.
No, seriously….who would benefit from the club being “run into the ground”? People keep spouting this rubbish and it makes no sense.

The value of our squad has increased massively from being worth next to nothing. We had one promotion, one play off season, then a bad season.

We need a striker in desperately but the squad looks pretty good to me.

They’ve barely sold any of the prize assets, so the usual “selling club” shit won’t stick. Instead we get baseless nonsense that assumes KLD is some evil supervillain trying to destroy the club he owns, for some unknown reason.

It was going wrong before Mowbray left.
Last 6 months was relegation form - been very few changes.
Let's see who we bring in and let go next 3 weeks - it will be impactful.

We've no idea if he's any good though.
