They do cost more though. That’s a fact. The “ profit” per supporter is therefore less and we don’t charge anywhere near as much as some other clubs. We don’t lose money on each supporter but we make less per person and therefore don’t necessarily have much more than clubs with much smaller support.

Just had a look it was estimated he had bankrolled the club to the tune of 170 million pounds as of 2020. He also converted over 100 million pounds that he loaned to the club in to shares in 2022, which has been reported he would never cash in, but could make the club a more saleable asset if he chose to walk away. We are scraping around in the bargain basement.
 
While Speakman gets the majority of criticism over this, for me it's canny narrow sighted to just blame him. Whatever your thoughts are on him or KLD, we can all agree it's now a joke tbh we haven't got a striker or 2 capable of actually offering something. For me though, that's now at the point where it's not a coincidence any more or just not being bothered to look. After all this time it has to be something else and to just say Speakman is shite and clueless, doesn't totally add up. So that can only be he isn't being backed or allowed to actually get one good enough imo. Ultimately it all comes down to money, which isn't Speakman’s to spend.

I've said for ages that KLD is getting away with murder. Speakman is out of his depth in his role imo....same as our owner.

Not sure he's out of his depth mind, you just need to look at how many of our players are linked with big moves. He's also brought some poor players in, Ba, Rusyn, Hemir, etc, but it could easily be said he's got 1 arm tied behind his back. Strikers cost money and we've now needed 1 ready to go for a long time. It can't just be a coincidence after this long.

Lack of ££££ from our owner. Speakman is a academy director imo.

You can't really compare a lifelong fan to an investor. Sadly the ridiculous finances in football mean not many clubs get the local lad done well anymore.

It does havs to be said that they haven't done anything with the money really. In one way I feel bad for him, but on the other seven fingered hand, it is Boro.

I know it's obviously a while back now but he got to see them win a trophy and reach a European final.

Pretty sure he doesn't have many regrets

He’s spent a fair whack mind on players that ain’t good enough.
