Alexandre Mendy (transfer rumour)

Keep clapping daft lad.

I have complemented the club in getting Rigg signed up. Most non league clubs have competent strikers for their level we currently have none.
And if you criticised the recruitment of strikers I would agree with you. Said plenty of times we need at least 1, but really 2 and it's unfair to expect anything this season from Mayenda except development.

I'll leave the insults to you chief, not my thing.

Certainly not how i remember and I've mentioned it plenty of times, especially the 'unexpected' bit in Lihadji. Speakman came out and mentioned how selling Lihadji "gave us immediate opportunities and "allowed us to make serious inroads into the transfer market" - actual quotes. That was August 5th. Then no more players came in till Ross Stewart was 3/4 out of the door and we signed was it 4(including Burstow) on Sept 1st.

Now I'm not exactly sure what your take is on that, but it's unlikely that Lihadji paid for Rusyn, Pembele, Aouchiche (given Rusyn alone was over 2m). Then in January Hjelde and Mundle were around 1.5m to 2m for Hjelde and 2m for Mundle.

Clearly Lihadji didn't pay for all that and given the money in from the Stewart sale was then coming into the club it's highly likely that did, or will over the next few seasons.

Just Pembele and Aouchiche. Or I guess just Rusyn to push it over the edge.

I don't think any of the income paid for mundle and Hjelde. I think that was very similar to the previous yesrs signings so was already budgeted in. Maybe a slight increase hut not a significant one

We are massively short on the striker front and on that I don’t disagree. It will determine a relegation battle (where we are now) or a promotion push if we sign 2 quality strikers.

The season starts on Saturday it’s down to the owner and Speakman. However, given the very poor recruitment of the past 18 months you can understand why many of our support have concerns.

I dont even think signing a quality striker will instantly fix our issues.

Weve played without a decent one for so long weve forgotten how to supply them

Roberts to Cirkin yesterday worked just fine. We also have put a number of quality balls right across the six yard box with nobody getting on the end of it last season. Thats bread and butter for any striker worth their salt.

You look at the 2 strikers we're currently in for and it does suggest we want s proper CF to attack crosses
It's why I really hope we get Mendy, looking at how prolific he's been with Caen in recent seasons and how many first time finishes and headers he scores, even if he struggles to adapt to general play, he should still be able to score if we create chances for him.

It’s such a frustrating situation. Hoping they relent and let the lad leave.

They'll let him leave when they get something close to what they value him at.

If Clarke said he wanted to leave tomorrow and someone come in with a bid of 5m, you wouldn't want the club to sell him below what they value him at just because he's unhappy would you?

The club had already agreed a fee with us, and told him he could leave.

This isn’t our fault, no matter how much you insist it is.

Yeah, but apparently the transfer fee was already agreed with the previous owners.

The MBappe team then came in and reneged on the deal which, in my opinion, is a bit of a twats trick.
